The Queen is a South African telenovela that revolves around the Khoza family – drug lords who use their logistics company to hide their dealings. The multi-award-winning show is currently in its 6th season. Since its premiere, the writers of the soapie have ensured that each new episode doesn’t fall short of viewers’ expectations. The Royalty Soapie award-winning show is produced by Ferguson Films, owned by veteran actress Connie Ferguson and her late husband, Shona Ferguson, who was equally a veteran actor. The Queen is directed by Xolani Mabaso, Wandile Magadla, Andries van der Merwe, and Zolani Phakade.
Its team of talented writers includes Phathutshedzo Makwarela, Lebogang Mogashoa, Zamani Khethelo, Tiisetso Tlelima, Gwydion Beynon, and Sihle Mthembu. In 2020, The Queen won Royalty Soapie Awards for Outstanding Wardrobe and Outstanding Lighting.

The Queen Has Been on Air For Over Five Years
The Queen premiered on Mzansi Magic on August 1st, 2016, and new episodes of the soapie air on the TV channel on weekdays (Mondays to Fridays) at 21h00. The series can also be watched on Canal Plus as it premiered on the channel in April 2020.
It runs at 260 episodes per season; however, its seventh and final season has only 125 episodes and is slated to be released in July 2022. The season has been shortened as the show was canceled by Mzansi Magic in March 2022.
