Mzansi has seen many high-profile breakups but not as dramatic as that of Rapulana Seiphemo and Zoe Mthiyane. The two once got people to believe they could be the ideal couple even though they both had relationships that didn’t work well in the past. However, it all ended in a bizarre breakup after Rapulana dumped Zoe for a woman he impregnated while still dating his lover and co-star (Zoe) on Generations.
The breakup almost spiraled out of control as it affected both the personal and professional life of Zoe because she allegedly resorted to alcohol to keep herself together. Even though they have been able to put the past behind them and continue with their separate lives, the dust that was raised by their relationship and how it all ended is yet to settle.
Rapulana Seiphemo and Zoe Mthiyane Met On The Set Of Generations
The love story of the two began on the set of Generations: The Legacy where they both have roles. Rapulana Seiphemo has been on the show since 2014 while Zoe came on board later as Zitha Langa.
The two supposedly started their relationship in 2017, but it was in 2018 that it became public. Even though they did not confirm that they were dating at the time, it was already clear as Zoe was not holding back on sharing the pictures of her man on social media. She once tagged him as her man crush Wednesday.
What made it more symbolic at the time was the fact that they were lovers on the show and they even got married.
The Relationship Ended On The Grounds Of Infidelity
The reason behind the breakup can be traced to the fact that Zoe found out her man was cheating on her with another woman who was also working on Generations, although she was in the admin department.
The actress felt betrayed by her man as she stood by him during his troubled times when he was having legal battles with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Although the identity of the other woman was not revealed, it was claimed that some of her friends ill-treated Zoe Mthiyane because of her relationship with the actor.
It was later revealed that the woman who came between the two is the granddaughter of Mfundi Vundla, the producer of the show. She has been identified as Zandile Tshukulu. Interestingly, Zandile was said to have carried the actor’s child while he was still with Zoe.
According to some reports, it was the actor who dumped Zoe and not the other way round, and he did it in order to make it official with Zandile. The actress who has not been very lucky in terms of finding love was said to have taken to alcohol after the sad breakup.
Zoe Lost Her Place On Generations Because Of The Breakup
Following the demise of the relationship, Zoe allegedly became uncontrollable. She took the breakup to heart and slipped into depression. This affected her professional life and she was unable to keep things together. Because of that, the beautiful actress was fired with immediate effect from the SABC1 soapie.
There were rumors that she got axed because she was intoxicated on set. A report claimed that she arrived on the scene intoxicated and the management decided to suspend her before taking the decision to fire her. Although she confirmed her exit from the show, she denied it was because of the aforementioned reason.
Another report has it that she was fired because she collapsed on set. According to her, the episode happened because she was emotionally tired. She also claimed that it was because she suffered bullying at the hands of Rapulana’s girlfriend and her friends.
It Was Not The First Nasty Break Up For Either of Them
It is worth noting that even though Zoe took the breakup in an uneasy manner, it was not the first nasty breakup she would be drawn into, neither was it the first for Rapulana Seiphemo, both of whom have been in serious relationships in the past.
Zoe Had Two Public Breakups In The Past
The actress dated Robert Marawa before they parted ways. According to Zoe, she was friends with Marawa for close to 7 years before they became an item. Soon, things picked up on the fast lane and she became pregnant with their son in 2009 and it didn’t take much time before things went out of control and they broke up when she was leaving for Australia in 2012. The break-up between Robert and Zoe was a heated one that left them both sore and with legal battles.
The actress later got into another relationship with Lebo M and things seemed as though they would end well for the two after they got engaged. Unfortunately, the relationship came to an end and she was once again involved in a nasty public breakup with the father of her child.
Rapulana Seiphemo Went Through A Failed Marriage
On the part of Rapulana Seiphemo, things are not so different. The actor was once married to Olga Rubeiro in 2003. The marriage took place in Swaziland and for more than a decade, the two remained a happy couple.
Unfortunately, in 2014, reports emerged that they could be on their way to getting a divorce. The Generations actor made rubbish of the claim, stating he was hooked to his wife. However, by 2015, it was clear that things were not the same between them. The actor was accused of cheating on his wife which led to the end of the marriage.
Rapulana Seiphemo and Zoe Mthiyane Have Since Moved On
Both Rapulana Seiphemo and Zoe Mthiyane seem to have now put the past behind them as they continue with their lives away from each other.
Mthiyane who has always preferred her personal life to remain private seems to be concentrating more on her kids and career. There is no evidence that she has gone into any relationship at the moment. Considering all her love experiences in the past, it might take a while for her to get into another relationship.
On his part, the actor seems to be enjoying his role as the father of his kid with Zandile. More so, his relationship with the granddaughter of the boss also looks like it’s going well, although neither of them is giving any detail to the public. In addition to this, the career life of the talented actor is flourishing just fine.
With all that has transpired between them, it is not known if they are still friends or if there are still hard feelings around them.
