Yet another South African rapper has hoisted the national flag high on the hip-hop American radio show, Sway in the Morning.
Ngud hitmaker Kwesta became the third South African Hip-hop artist to make it to the hot seat on the show. Notably, Kwesta represented SA to the fullest when he dropped his freestyle.
SA rappers Cassper and AKA have in the past, been invited as guests on the show hosted by Sway Calloway. The show is popularly known for making artists drop a few bars on the spot. This has become a tradition on the show and though it sounds like fun, it can’t be that easy. Nevertheless, Kwesta came prepared and soon had his audience nodding to the rhythm.

The South African rapper recently flew to the US to perform at the annual South by South West (SXSW) music festival. The festival has featured SA artists in the past, including the likes of K.O, Petite Noir and Moonchild Sanelly.
This time, the festival chose Kwesta to represent the country in the annual festival which takes place in March.
Kwesta said it’s an honour to be chosen by the event organisers. He’s also very excited about the opportunity to hoist the SA flag high for the world to see. The festival featured both big names and upcoming artists.
“I first learnt that they wanted me to perform about a month ago. I was naturally excited when it was finalised. I guess they heard my music and how much South Africans love it and decided to book me,” Kwesta said.
Apparently, he decided to make the most of his stay in the States by making an appearance on the Sway in the Morning show.
