What is Imbewu: The Seed all About?

In the show, Zimele Ngcolosi is a successful oil mogul who owns the company Maluju oil. He established his company with his friend Pranav Rampersad, and both men lived their lives determined to leave legacies behind. But a secret between those closest to Ngcolosi threatens to change everything. He discovered that his pastor brother, Phakade fathered all his four children (Nganono, Zithulele, Zakhiti, and Buhle) with his wife, MaZulu. When he heard this in church, he lost his cool as his supposed infertility was exposed.

Ngcolosi later got to know that he had a biological son named Nkululeko, working in his company as a security guard. When Ngcolosi and his friend and business partner Pranav died, Nkulukeko’s fortune changed as he inherited significant stakes in his father’s companies. But at the same time, he became rivals with his step-siblings and the children of Pranav as both families battled for ownership of Ngcolosi’s businesses.

The twists and turns that follow suit and the power struggle in the corporate world of the oil business all conspire to bring to us what has been dubbed the most popular TV show in South Africa.
