During a recent interview, Idols SA judge Unathi Msengana confirmed that her marriage of eight years has hit the rock.
While the interview was focused on her career, her new album, Brave, True and Strong, Unathi found time to share little details about her marital life. The former Metro FM DJ told eNCA‘s Weekend Wake Up‘s Ayanda-Allie Paine that she has separated from her husband of eight years, Thomas “Bad Boy T” Msengana.
The couple, who are known to be very private, had refused to respond to media reports about their marriage not working out.
However, Unathi used the interview to clear the air though she made it clear that she has learnt not to be put in a position where “people force us to share our private lives. Your work speaks for itself.”
She has always made effort to separate her personal and professional life.
Putting to rest the rumours that have been doing the rounds for several months that the couple’s marriage is on a rough patch, Unathi responded to Paine’s question on if it was true that she and Thomas are still together, saying: “No, we are not.”
The presenter followed the question up with “But you’re in a good place right ?” Msengana responded: “Of course we are. We’re family.”
The couple who have been married since 2009 have two children together.
Unathi has been living the life since her departure from Metro FM earlier this year. The singer who officially released her fifth studio album titled Nguwe on the 15th of September took to social media a few days later to announce that it has already sold out.
She told fans that the album available at two stores sold out in just five days of its release.
