Sadly in October 2017, Unathi confirmed that she had separated from her husband of eight years in an interview on eNCA. It was alleged that the former Idols SA judge stumbled on sexually explicit pictures of a Joburg woman called Noluthando Dlalisa on her husband’s phone.

Consequently, Thando Dlalisa filed for a protection order against Unathi at the Randburg Magistrate’s court on June 24th, 2019, alleging that she was harassed by the radio presenter.
