Sindi Dlathu Takes A Bow From Muvhango: Everything You Need To Know

One of the pioneers of popular SABC2 drama Muvhango, veteran actress Sindi Dlathu is ready to take a bow after twenty long years.

The-43-year-old who plays Thandaza Mokoena, is one of the longest-serving actresses on the show. In fact, she had been part of the drama since its inception in 1997.

In a statement about her exit from the show, Sindi said she’s ready to spread her wings and explore her horizon.

“Muvhango has been more than a job to me, it has been my life for 20 years and I’ve loved and cherished every single moment of playing Thandaza. After 20 years I’ve decided to give the Thandaza character a break in order for me to grow as an artist, venture out to explore new opportunities and discover what I can do as an actress and as a human being.”

The executive producer of the show Duma Ndlovu was acknowledged by Sindi who attributed her success to him, saying she is what she is today because of his mentorship.

Similarly, Ndlovu said he enjoyed every moment working with her. He also said he’s positive that Sindi will excel in the industry the same way she killed the head-strong Thandaza.

“I have cherished every single moment Sindi has been part of the shows I have done and she remains one of the most talented people I have ever worked with,” said Ndlovu, creator and executive producer of Muvhango.

“I have loved working with her and was looking forward to watching her continued growth. I wish her nothing but the best as she continues to grow and I have no doubt that she will tackle any role and character that comes her way the same way she has handled Thandaza. I wish her continued success and may God continue to bless her.”
