In April 1997, Muvhango premiered, and since then, it has been attracting millions of viewers daily. From Mondays to Fridays, the multi-award-winning series broadcast on SABC2 at 21h00. It is created by Duma Ndlovu, who also serves as Muvhango‘s executive producer. His company, Word of Mouth Pictures, oversees the show’s production.
Herbert Hadebe, Malebo Mokoena, and Leo Phiri are additionally involved in the production of the SABC2 series. First debuted as a Tshivenda language TV series, Muvhango has now become multilingual with Xhosa, Sesotho, Zulu, and English as part of its original languages.
