Munzhedzi Malema, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema’s one-year-old son has finally been spotted for the first time.
His father, Juju, took to social media to share adorable pictures of his good-looking son on Tuesday and the internet responded with heartwarming comments and so much love for the ‘young fighter’.
Recall that Malema and his wife Mantwa Matlala welcomed their charming son in October 2016. And apparently, they waited for a whole year before showing off a picture of what the child looks like.
Introducing his son to the world on his Instagram account, Malema simply wrote: “Ladies and gentlemen meet the one and only Fighter Munzhedzi Malema of the Mašupatsela a Economic Freedom Fighters.”
Shortly after the fighter shared the picture, his followers took to the comment section and expressed love for the one-year-old, with some remarking that he is a future EFF Leader in the making.
We can confirm that Munzhedzi – a Venda name which means a self-starter or leader – is Julius Malema’s second son. The father had previously fathered a son‚ Ratanang‚ in 2006 with Maropeng Ramohlale.
After separating from Maropeng, he got married to his high school sweetheart Mantwa Matlala in December 2014 at a luxurious private ceremony in his hometown, Seshego, in Limpopo.
Julius Malema has had his fair share of controversy, as regards to fathering kids out of wedlock. Sometime in February this year, South Africans were thrown into confusion after a Zimbabwean woman, Grace Nyoka, claimed that he is the father of her child.
The woman claimed that she fell pregnant for Malema when he was a member of the African National Congress (ANC) but was later abandoned when Juju found out that she was with his child.
The story first appeared on an unverified website and got the whole town talking. The website reported that the woman made the startling revelation in Pretoria where she came to reunite her son with his “biological father”.
Grace, who named her son Julius Jnr, said she only wanted Malema to accept and take responsibility for his child, insisting that “Julius Jnr must also benefit from his father’s legacy”.
While many people downplayed Grace’s claims and the original source of the story, what astonished everyone was the out-of-the-ordinary resemblance between the child and Malema.
In response, Malema rubbished the story, describing it as a fake news. He maintained that the story was fabricated because of his political criticism against “them”.
He was also supported by Home Affairs spokesperson. The source simply confirmed that the story was invented to taint Malema’s image. “That Juju baby story is fake news … That’s the same site that claimed Minister Gigaba is deporting uncircumcised men,” the spokesperson said.
Fake news unleashed because they can't mount a political responds to our political critic against them. Falsehood is not sustainable. #Kubo
