The MTV EMAs 2017 which took place on Sunday night in London, was a blast with Rita Ora hosting and an awesome lineup of artists gracing the stage.
In addition to her acclaimed hosting skills, the 26-year-old British singer pulled out all the stops in a series of sexy and interesting outfits during the event. One of her eye-popping outfits was a white dressing gown and towel ensemble.
Hosting the show didn’t stop Rita from executing a perfect performance on stage and she expertly slipped back into hosting duties like a pro after the gig. Rita proved to be the right choice for the choice, evident in comments on social media filled with praises for her hosting skills.
As the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) returned to London for the first time in 21 years, Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes was the big winner. He picked up three awards including the inaugural best artist prize at the MTV EMAs 2017. The 19-year-old beat Ed Sheeran; Taylor Swift; Ariana Grande; Miley Cyrus and Kendrick Lamar in the new genderless category to win the trophy.
Mendes also took home the best song prize for There’s Nothing Holding Me Back as well as the best fans award.
The show opened with a clip of Eminem performing his new single Walk on Water in a London pub. The rapper later scooped the best hip-hop artist award to his utmost surprise.
“I don’t know how I got this because I haven’t had an album out in a few years,” he said.
Singer Camila Cabello, who won the best-pop prize also took to the stage to perform Havana with a troupe of dancers dressed as bathing beauties around a realistic projection of a pool. Her performance was rated best for the night by many.
Artist Stormzy arrived in a police car and left in a blaze of fireworks after performing the rousing Big For Your Boots. Other performers at the event include- Travis Scott; Demi Lovato; Kesha; Liam Payne; David Guetta, Charli XCX and French Montana; Clean Bandit, Zara Larsson, Julia Michaels and Anne-Marie; The Killers; U2; French Montana and Swae Lee.
