All ye critics blaming honorable Zuma for ANC’s flop at polls, KZN ANCYL has demanded you leave Daddy Zuma alone.
The reignited calls for Zuma to fall is uncalled-for. He is not the architect of ANC’s lose of support. Zuma is going nowhere, he must complete his term as President of Mzansi, asserts KwaZulu-Natal ANCYL.
Speaking for the ANCYL branch, provincial secretary Thanduxolo Sabelo remarked that it’s unfair to blame ANC’s poor performance during the elections on Mr President.
“He never contested to be the mayor of Abaqulusi, or to be a mayor of anywhere else in the country. These were local government elections. Zuma won his election overwhelmingly in 2014.
He will finish his term as ANC president and as the president of the country.
President Jacob Zuma cannot be used as a scapegoat. The President cannot be blamed for local service,” Sabelo stated.
With that, he charged KZN ANC to dialogue with other political parties on the seven hung municipalities and form a coalition with any willing to adhere to the principles of the Freedom Charter.
Sabelo was addressing news men in Durban on ANCYL’s resolutions at a provincial executive committee meeting in Ulundi.
He pointed out that it’s time for the ANC to rejuvenate itself. The rejuvenation process, he said, should begin in KZN and spread across the nation.
To attain the rejuvenation dream, Sabelo indicated that ANC will have to usher in young comrades to the top structures of the party.
Specifically, he remarked that the top six position of the ANC ought to be dominated by young comrades.
“Younger people should take over the ANC. We believe in a generational mix and organisation renewal,” Sabelo charged.
