We wouldn’t have had a better memory of the 2017 Father’s Day celebration, had South Africa’s first lady Thobeka fail to keep us abreast on how the day went down on President Jacob Zuma’s side.
Thobeka Madiba-Zuma is President Zuma’s preferred wife and the most active on social media. So, we virtually know most ‘secrets’ and some hidden facts about Zuma’s private life from Thobeka’s social media page.
Madiba-Zuma is an Instagram lover, where she floods her over 50000 strong followers with pictures of things happening around her on daily basis.
It was from her page that we found out that the first thing that interests Zuma most is that he loves spending quality time with his daughters during his free moments. And that he ices this time by taking selfies with them.
She once confessed that President Zuma has some kind of fatherly and unfathomable love for one of his youngest daughters. According to Thobeka, this special love “shows in their eyes”.
The Father’s Day celebration, an annual event that celebrates fathers all over the world, held yesterday and as anticipated, Thobeka could not hold back her admiration for her politically embattled husband, as she shared a heart-melting video of the number one citizen celebrating the day with his family.
In the video, President Zuma was seen happily getting along with members of his family. His children formed a circle around him, taking pictures of him while he asks where to cut the cake.
As the president thrusts the knife into the cake, first lady Thobeka Madiba-Zuma popped up the song of the day and the children joined her. Taking to Instagram later, the first lady wrote: “The only thing better than having you as my hubby, is my children having you as a Dad. #fathersday #mom #diaryofagratefulmom #numberonedad”

President Jacob Zuma married Thobeka, a former bank clerk in 2010. His other wives are Bongi Ngema Zuma; Nompumelelo MaNtuli Zuma and Sizakele MaKhumalo Zuma.
His marriage to ANC Presidential hopeful and former AU chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma crashed in 1998. She had 4 children – Thuthukile Zuma, Gugulethu Zuma, Msholozi Zuma, Nokuthula Nomaqhawe Zuma – with President Zuma.
