Dineo Ranaka Opens Up On How She Ended Up With A Job At Metro FM

Call it fate or divine calling, Dineo Ranaka is back to radio even though she had no plans of making a comeback.

Earlier this week, the reality TV star took over the reins at Metro FM’s The Front Row. However, it wasn’t something she planned ahead as it just happened.

According to Ranaka, she was just having a her day off on Monday when she received a call from the station offering her Bonang Matheba’s former job on the 10am to 12pm slot.

“They called me and I was actually shocked because I was not really aware of a lot of things that were happening; all I knew was that Glen Lewis joined Touch HD and that DJ Fresh had joined Metro FM. I had no idea Bonang had resigned,” Ranaka said.

Apparently, Ranaka thought this was too big for her to decide on, thus, she sought divine guidance.

“I went to the ladies room at Roco Mamas and said a short prayer after that call and I said ‘God, if this is where you want me to go, please lead me’. I asked Him to show me the way.”

Normally, whenever she gets a radio job, she would ask for time to think about it. However, it wasn’t the case with this one as she didn’t even think twice before accepting.

The meeting between Ranaka and Metro FM station management happened at the eatery in Randburg.

Ranaka said working Kganyago as co-host on the show has been interesting so far. In fact she is positive they will achieve greater things in the future.

“I love working with Lerato. She has so much energy and she is easy to work with and I think it’s a beautiful thing that women can work so well and gel together. I think we are going to do a lot of great things together,” Ranaka said.
