Bow Wow Bows Out Of Rap Music As He Announces His Retirement


American rapper Bow Wow has made his retirement from rap music official.

The 29-year-old star made the announcement on Sunday August 7 that after his upcoming album, he is hanging up the mic.

Apparently, the rapper is determined to live up to his promise to quit the rap music as soon as age 30 comes knocking.

In a series of tweets on Sunday and Monday, Bow Wow who now goes by his real name Shad Moss wrapped it up.

“I always said I’d retire from music before 30,” the musician tweeted. “I just can’t see myself at 30 years old rapping.”

“Made over 20 million off rap. Why be greedy? Im good with everything I accomplished. I made it to the white house,” he added.

He confirmed the fears of fans that he will soon stop making music as he tweeted;

‘Its official… Snoop will EP my FINAL album … “NYLTH,”‘ he wrote.

‘My last album will be Executive Produced by my uncle Snoop and myself. Since he brought me in the game, its only right i involve him and end it with him,’ he said.

Bow Wow found fame at the age of 13 as Lil’ Bow Wow and was loved by music fans around the globe. The musician released his first album Beware of the Dog in 2000.

He later launched a career as an actor which has also been successful. He has appeared in movies such as Madea’s Big Happy Family, Lottery Ticket and the TV crime series CSI:Cyber.

Meanwhile, the multi-talented artist sees his retirement as a stepping stone to greater heights.

Though he is retiring from rap music, he is not leaving the entertainment industry entirely.

The artist, said on Twitter that he will be focusing on acting in the future. Besides, he is currently producing two TV shows.

However, the rapper didn’t answer questions on why he can’t be rapping at the age of 30. Would have been nice to know.
