Reports have it that the ANC Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu today, announced that he’ll be dragging embattled SABC group executive of corporate affairs Hlaudi Motsoeneng to court.
As gathered, Mthembu wants Motsoeneng lashed for the “malicious and defamatory allegations” he made against him not long ago.
If you recall, Motsoeneng at a New Age business briefing the previous month, remarked that Mthembu attempted to capture him.
Then, it was reported that Motsoeneng threatened to release information about Mthembu if he wouldn’t stop making negative statements about him and the problem at the SABC.
The ANC Chief Whip nonetheless, dismissed Motsoeneng’s claim saying they were defamatory and that he’s consulting his lawyers to see ways they can discipline the SABC guy.
Mthembu even dared Motsoeneng to release the information he threatened to release.
Mr. Motsoeneng remained effectively mute about the issue afterward. Now, he must speak up for the ANC Chief Whip’s legal representatives have already sent a letter to him demanding R1m in damages and an immediate public apology and retraction for his claims.
Before now, Mthembu expressed that Motsoeneng’s attacks on him are further testimony to the crisis at the SABC and points to the lengths he would go to flagrantly abuse the public broadcaster’s platforms so as to maliciously pursue those he regards as detractors.
