South Africa recoiled in shock following the death of rally driver and TV personality Gugu Zulu who died in an attempt to climb Mt. Kilimanjero.
The icon’s death got South Africans including renowned rapper AKA reflecting on life generally and the value of it all.
After the tragic news hit the country early on Monday morning, AKA joined thousands of South Africans in paying tribute to the fallen hero.
Gugu Zulu was part of a Trek4Mandela expedition on Mount Kilmanjaro.
However, he had been suffering from flu-like symptoms and was having difficulties in breathing before being rushed to hospital.
While the rest of the country mourned the ‘fastest brother in Africa, AKA took to twitter to reflect on the life led by the star. AKA revealed he had one or two lessons to learn from Zulu.
“Gugu Zulu’s life demonstrates that you should live yours to the fullest,” AKA tweeted on Monday.
The rapper added that “life is way too unpredictable and way too short to spend your time worrying about what others may think of you.”
Using his relationship with Queen B as an example, AKA noted how the public had reacted to their relationship and how all that has changed over the past year.
AKA admonished everyone to emulate the Zulu lived his life to the fullest, seizing every moment. Zulu was a much-loved personality that often excited with his tales of adventure.
The accurate cause of Zulu’s death is yet to be established. However, the Nelson Mandela Foundation confirmed the rally driver had been complaining of flu-like symptoms.
The symptoms were similar to the ones suffered by Mabena when he attempted to climb the French Alps back in May.
