Following the controversies that have been threatening Wololo hitmaker Babes Wodumo, South Africa’s power couple AKA and Bonang have rallied round her.

Though the duo is considered to be one of Mzansi’s most-loved couples, they still face their fair share of controversy every now and then.

The criticism and hate that comes with being in the public eye can be overwhelming and Babes is feeling it hot right now.

The Wololo hitmaker found herself making headlines over the past few weeks with critics poking at her left and right.

The singer’s performance on 19 December in East London got tongues wagging because she allegedly refused to perform in her usual lively manner.

Subsequently, she came under scrutiny after a video of the performance at the Buyel’Ekhaya Music Festival went viral. The video had fans wondering why Babes didn’t display any of her signature moves. Thus, her performance at the event was labelled “lifeless”.

Nevertheless, the singer took to social media to defend herself. Posting a video on Instagram, Babes accused event founder Nomahlubi Mazwai of abusing her verbally. In addition, she said Mazwai threatened to kill her moments. This was before she was bullied to go on stage with the help of security guards.

However, festival organizers hit back at the singer’s claims, labeling Babes Wodumo as “ill-mannered”. The organizers also explained how the musician violated contract agreements after collecting 75% of her performance fee.

The aforementioned and other events of the past few weeks have caused Babes to become the talk of the social media community. This can be overwhelming for anybody and if care is not taken can make you lose focus. But not to worry, AKA and Bonang are here with some words of encouragement to Babes.

“Kill these shows, then go on a long holiday. You deserve it. I and @bonang_m are behind you! Keep your head up! You are a star,” AKA told Babes.
