Just in time for the much-anticipated second season, former Generations star Zolisa Xaluva has joined the cast of popular drama series iGazi.
Mzansi Magic’s iGazi had a successful first season with a huge community of fans. Viewers loved the show when its first season ran last year and can’t wait for the continuation.
According to Drum, the cameras have already started rolling for the second season of the show which will start airing in April. And though we have confirmation he joined the cast, it’s not quite clear what role Zolisa will play on the show.
Nevertheless, the star told Drum that he is overly excited to reunite with some old colleagues. Apparently, he will get to hook up with some actors he worked with at Generations in the past.
“I’m currently shooting with the show and I’m very excited to be working with my old colleagues like Thami Mnqolo, Anga Makubalo and Zenande Mfenyane,” he said to the publication.
He has previously worked with the aforementioned trio before they were all fired by Generations in 2014 together with others over contractual disputes.
Speaking to the publication about his role on the show, Zolisa seems excited about his role and can’t wait to see the reception it gets from viewers.
“It’s going to be an interesting season I must say and I look forward to seeing how the show’s viewers will receive my character and the story behind it,” he says.
Meanwhile, as announced by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) last year, popular soapie Generations: The legacy and some other soapies would have to move from SABC1 to SABC 3. This will last for the duration of the African Cup of Nations football competition.
