Lundi died last Friday after a prolonged sickness. A statement released by the family confirmed that he died at Edenvale hospital in the early hours of Friday morning after a long battle with stomach TB worsened by liver complications. He was 38 years old.

Meanwhile, a public memorial service will take place in honour of the gospel star at Grace Bible Church, Soweto on Tuesday afternoon from 2 pm.

Lundi’s manager and family spokesperson, Anele Hlazo urged South Africans to avail themselves of this opportunity to mourn the late gospel singer. In addition, it will be the best time to show support for Lundi’s family at a difficult time like this.

“This is the time to honour the memory of our great and beloved Lundi.

“It would bring the family and friends so much comfort to see South Africans remember what he was about and all he stood for, everyone is invited,” Hlazo said.
