The latest news making its rounds on Friday morning had it that Tbo Touch and Gareth Cliff have joined forces to launch a new entertainment company they called Touch Central.
Touch and Gareth released the good news during a luxurious media breakfast at a floating sky restaurant.
The entertainment company is the first of its kind. It will provide a free non-stop online music channel to subscribers.
Touch Central will serve as a radio stream with emphasis on local music.
Touch’s enthusiasm about the company was evident in his speech at the media breakfast briefing. He mentioned that though he wasn’t friends with Gareth before, they have created “the future” together.
“We have the opportunity to create something amazing. Gareth and I weren’t friends. We saw each other in the hallway but I’ve been watching him and this is the future,” said Touch.
Touch added that he’s excited to make a jump of what he calls a “quantum leap.”
Touch central promises to unleash fun like never before with Touch hosting the daily drive time show every weekday from 3pm until 7pm.
Meanwhile, Touchdown remains the name of the show. A line-up of sizzling hot presenters, mostly females is also part of the excitement.
The climax of the announcement was that renowned hip-hop star DJ Khaled could be gracing a Saturday night show on the platform.
All things being equal, Touch Central will launch in a month’s time. A live countdown is already set to kick off on the website.
Tbo Touch resigned from Metro FM last month followed by co-host Refiloe. His resignation led to speculations that he was having problems with the broadcaster.
However, Touch insisted that there was no such thing, but he just felt it was time to move on.
