The SABC is in for some fresh trouble as leader of the Incredible Happenings Ministries, Prophet Mboro Motsoeneng has accused the broadcaster of fraud.
According to Prophet Mboro, the SABC swindled him of more than half-a-million rand he paid to promote his church on air.
Mboro’s Ukhozi FM shows were first “cancelled without explanation” with the SABC attributing it to “technical glitches.” He also allegedly accused the SABC of not playing his full shows, or not playing them at all.
Apparently, Mboro is overly upset about paying for TV airtime with nothing being aired.
So far, all attempts made by the Prophet to get a refund from the public broadcaster proved abortive.
However, Mboro has since acquired the services of Johannesburg forensic audit firm; Sekelaxabiso, to help get his money back
The prophet who allegedly went to heaven and took selfies with angels is determined to take the case up. He gave the SABC till the end of next month to refund him or face legal actions.
Meanwhile, Motsoeneng refuse to comment and referred all inquiries to Sekelaxabiso; director Boyce Mkhize.
However, a glance at Motsoeneng and Mkhize’s chain of e-mails revealed some details. The prophet had demanded a R536000 refund from the broadcaster for the airtime he had bought. The airtime was for both TV and radio stations.
On it’s part, the SABC confirmed that there is something amiss but they have their reasons for the breach of contract.
According to the broadcaster, some of the sponsored advertisements had violated the broadcaster’s religious broadcasting policy. Thus they had to be terminated.
The broadcaster also agreed to refund the prophet, but not for the full R536 000 he was laying claims on.
Prophet Mboro Motsoeneng declined to speak more on the issue.
