Rapper Fifi Cooper will be rubbing shoulders with the big names in the Nigerian music industry soon.
The rapper is headed to Nigeria to perform at the Naija Music Showdown. This forms a part of the prestigious Pepsi Corporate Elite Weekend Takeover.
This follows her sudden exit from recording label Ambitiouz Entertainment earlier this year.
The biggest musicians in Nigeria including the likes of Tekno, Flavour, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Phyno, Falz and Skales will be there at the all-Naija, all-night, no-table affair at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos.
Also, US stars Sisqo, Blackstreet, Next and Jagged Edge will perform on the second night at the black-tie event.
Thrilled about the venture, Fifi said she’s ready to take the industry by storm.
“This is my step into the lucrative and highly competitive Nigerian music scene. I’m thrilled beyond words that I will be on stage and also meet influential musicians who continue to set the bar across the continent.”
She will also use the opportunity to collaborate with Nigerian artists and record some music while she’s there. “This is major,” Cooper gushed. Apparently, it’s a dream come true for the female artist who recently cut ties with the record label under which she released her debut album, 20FIFI.
“My dream has been to break into other markets and this is the beginning.”
According to publicist Gastor Serumula of Israel Media, rapper Fifi Cooper is ready to go global. She described Fifi as a hard worker who is equal to the task in front of her.
“Fifi knows that the stage is big and has potential to launch her not only in Nigeria.”
In other words, the competitive Nigerian music industry is just the beginning for her.
