Due to popular demand, Mzansi Magic has announced that its hit telenovela The Queen has been extended to air five days in a week.
The show which debuted on the channel seven months ago has undoubtedly become one of its most-watched series. This is according to the latest Television Audience Measurement Survey (TAMS).

Shortly after its debut, it was raining praises on the social media. Both fans and celebrities took to social media to share their thoughts about the show which they couldn’t wait to have some more of.
Thus, the show became a major talking point on social media on a daily basis. As a result of The Queen’s popularity, Mzansi Magic decided to extend the number of times the show is aired in a week.
Therefore, starting from July 31, the show will be extended from its current four-day cycle to air every weeknight.
According to the channel’s publicist Bongiwe Potwana-Metsing, plans are in motion to invest in the production the channel’s telenovela The Queen after seeing the multitude of fans the show has garnered.

That is our focus and it made a lot of sense to put some of that investment in a high quality production that was already a hit with our viewers,” Bongiwe said.
Other popular shows including reality TV shows; Living the Dream with Somizi, The Ranakas and Penny Penny Ahee would be renewed for a second season from October this year.
