Subsequently, the funeral service for the murdered former Generations star will be held on Saturday at Protea Hall from 08:00 to 11:00. Mourners will then proceed to Olifantsvlei Cemetery for the final farewell.

Also, a candlelight vigil will take place at Meli Lounge (the scene of his murder) on Tuesday between 18:00 and 20:00 where family and friends will gather to say a prayer for the deceased.

Popular Jozi FM DJ Mandla Hlatswayo alongside his friend, Oupa Duma, were sent to their early graves on Sunday night at a pub in Pimville, Soweto.

“What happened was, four armed men came into the place. The two victims were trying to rescue two girls who were being robbed and they were shot and killed instantly,” said Police spokesperson Captain Hitler Ngwenya.

Apparently, Mandla and his friend were only trying to help other people in the pub who were being robbed. Unfortunately, their story didn’t get a happy ending. Shots were fired and the actor and his friend soon took their last breaths.

The incident that led to his death had a lot of people singing his praises and calling him a hero. Thus, it won’t be surprising to see a massive turnout at Mandla Hlatshwayo’s memorial and funeral services.

Following the brutal murder of the two friends, the police launched a manhunt for the assailants which seems to have paid off already. It was confirmed on Tuesday morning that four suspects are in police net in connection with the murders.
