After 26 years of her first appearance on the cover of People‘s World’s Most Beautiful issue, Julia Roberts is still glowing and getting prettier.
The Pretty Woman has been named by People magazine as the “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” for a record fifth time.
Now that’s a long time to stay this pretty. The 49-year-old actress was announced as the prettiest by the magazine on Wednesday. She has previously claimed the cover spot in 2010, 2005, 2000 and 1991.
Julia who won an Academy Award for Erin Brockovich, hardly believes she’s so pretty to be celebrated like this.
“I am very flattered,” the star told People’s editor-in-chief, Jess Cagle.
The actress was just 23 when she first appeared on the cover of the World’s Most Beautiful issue in 1991. Afterwards, she became a household name after starring in the happily ever after movie Pretty Woman alongside Richard Gere.
Subsequently, she found herself on the list again in 2000, 2005 and 2010 and now she’s back in 2017. Guess she’s just as beauty as charged.
“I’m going to mention that in my Christmas card to the Clooneys this year,” she hilariously joked.
Would you blame her? She sure earned some bragging rights.
Notably, her record-breaking feat also means that she’s now ahead of George Clooney, who has been People’s Sexiest Man Alive only twice.
Though she has not been constant in the spotlight lately, Julia Roberts has quite an accomplished career. Her achievements include winning Best Actress at the 1989 Academy Awards for her role in “Erin Brockovich.”
Again, in the 90s, she was one of the highest-paid actresses in the world.
People’s 28th annual “World’s Most Beautiful” double-issue will be on newsstands on Friday.
In her cover story, the Oscar winner talks about her marriage of 14 years to cinematographer Danny Moder, her amazing life with their three children – twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 12, and son Henry, 9 and of course a tip or two about her ageless beauty.
