Classifying Hlengiwe Hlophe’s stunning wedding over the weekend as beautiful will be an understatement.
In the real sense of it, the fighter’s wedding was just second to none.
The wedding, in summary, was literally ‘perfect’, starting from her jaw-dropping amazeballs gown – which had a crystal encrusted‚ close fitting bodice with a full skirt; to her groom’s turquoise waistcoat combination with a navy suit – which really turned the necks of many guests.
The enchanting event was further crowned with the presence of EFF leader and Commander-in-Chief, Julius Malema. Like a general, Malema wasn’t all alone. The chief fighter was spotted with senior members of the red block, including deputy president Floyd Shivambu, who beamed with smiles at the event.

At the peak of the ceremony, the bride tied the knot in the presence, and to the applause of her friends, well-wishers, and family members.
Speaking at the occasion, Malema told the newly wedded couple to see each other as one. He also reminded them that marriage is not for boys or cowards, but for men and for the brave.
The revolutionary wedding – as culled from the party’s website, also pooled top political figures in the country, who apparently looked inspired, excited, and delighted with the couple.
In a statement, the EFF thanked Hlengiwe Hlophe’s husband for the recent sacrifices in time away from her because of her work for their fast growing movement.
“We understand that it is not easy, but the revolution can only be won through sweat, blood, and tears. We salute him for his share in our leadership through her and encourage him in the even longer road ahead,” the red block added.
EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu who said he was “inspired” by the ceremony‚ took to social media to share the day with EFF’s fans and supporters, including a photo of the party’s leadership with the bride and groom.
Hlengiwe Hlope is EFF’s deputy secretary and MP since 2014. She sits on the home affairs and international affairs portfolio committees. She is also involved in the rules of the National Assembly committee.
