Following allegations that he threatened a lady with a gun, pop star Chris Brown and the Los Angeles Police Department spent most part of Tuesday engaged in a dramatic stand-off at the rapper’s Tarzana home.
Consequently, the stand-off led to his arrest for assault with a deadly weapon.
Beauty queen Baylee Curran alleged that Mr Brown had pointed the gun at her face for admiring his friend’s jewelry.
According to the woman, Chris Brown pointed the gun at her and she managed to escape.
However, the 27-year-old rapper denied the allegations in his posts on Instagram before his arrest. According to him, he had woken up to find police outside his home in the Tarzana neighborhood in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, arresting Brown wasn’t an easy task for the police. For hours, LAPD officers, and of course reporters, stood outside the house as Brown refused to let them in. At least not without a warrant.
During the stand-off, Brown took to social media and posted a series of videos in which he denied the allegations. He added that he was being treated unfairly and dared the police to get a warrant and come search his home.
“When you get the warrant for whatever you need to do, you’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing, you idiots,” said an angry Brown.
Subsequently, by early afternoon police had obtained a search warrant and entered the singer’s home. His attorney was also present at the moment.
Brown has been involved in several other incidents involving violence in the past. In 2009, he assaulted his ex girlfriend and pop star Rihanna. Also, he finished a lengthy term of probation, community service and domestic violence classes in 2015.
Apparently, he’s no stranger to violence related cases. But, this time he has maintained he’s innocent.
