The ANC are dissatisfied with Zuma as the top guy of the party, and of course, the president of the nation. The big shots of the party have been carefully lobbying to recall him, and would have succeeded if not for certain strong-men who have dedicated their strength and influence in the party to defending the president.
This is based on a City Press report which disclosed that cards are stacked against Zuma in the ANC, and that the intelligence Minister David Mahlobo “has emerged as the strongman in defense of a vulnerable President Jacob Zuma.”
As related, ANC insiders revealed that high-ranking ANC members are increasingly unhappy with Zuma and that the situation has escalated to such a point is Zuma is depending on Mahlobo, Police Minister Nathi Nhleko and the Premier League (David Mabuza, Ace Magashule and Supra Mahumapelo) as his most dependable allies to hold on to the number one position at the ANC and the leader of South Africa.
A former ANC NEC member reportedly described some group of senior ANC leaders as “honorable men” and detailed that the “honorable men” have been carefully lobbying to oust Zuma.
Although the former ANC NEC member refused to disclose the identity of the honorable men, he remarked that “people in the ANC are angry.” With that, he pointed out all it will take to do away with Zuma is a debate in ANC’s NEC when Zuma isn’t present.
He stressed that a resolution to remove Zuma could be arrived at when he’s absent. “It is not magic. It is like removing the chairman of the board. But they have to lobby themselves to take a position,” he stated.
