This combination of these two local vibrant personalities will guarantee a lot of laughter and fun at Sun City Superbowl as the movers and shakers of the music industry are honoured later this month.

Somizi is returning as host of the glitzy event after he co-hosted with Thando Thabethe last year. Surely, his reputation as a much-loved theatre and television veteran as well as a singer precedes him.

on the other hand, Tumi Morake who is also a respected television host is the reigning queen of South African comedy. Last year, Tumi became the first female to be crowned Comic of the Year at the 6th annual Comics’ Choice Awards. She beat popular male comedians Loyiso Gola; Mashabela Galane; Skhumba Hlophe and Carvin Goldstone to clinch the coveted award.

In a nutshell, she’s a ball of fun. Thus, there’s no doubt the combination of Somizi and Tumi will keep the stage lit at the 2017 Sama awards.

Speaking on why the duo got selected for the gig, RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said;

“Our team is hard at work putting together a ceremony befitting the stature of the SAMA awards. We have every faith in Somizi and Tumi that they will add that extra zing to the proceedings and leave us entertained.”

This year’s Samas event takes place on 27 May. The star-studded event will be broadcast live on SABC1 at 20:00.
