Following his Twitter war with seasoned presenter Lerato Kganyago in July 2022, Musa claimed that the media personality and her husband sent him a death threat, and he shared a screenshot of the supposed text message on Twitter.

However, Lerato slammed the allegation and said that it was Musa that was making up the death threats. Even though Musa Khawula has had many setbacks in his career, he has continued to trend on social media, gaining many followers in the process. He opened a new eponymous YouTube Channel in November 2022.

Why Did Musa Khawula Get Beaten Up?

On April 8th, 2023, Musa Khawula made news headlines as he was allegedly assaulted by Ukhozi FM presenter, Sabelo “Ntombeningi” Sithole at a restaurant in Maboneng, Johannesburg. The radio personality explained that he arrived at the restaurant and saw a couple fighting. As he approached to separate the fight, he noticed that Musa was filming the ugly incident and sharing it on Instagram Live.

He reasoned with the online influencer to help stop the fight, but he continued filming even when the couple was escorted outside. It was at that point that Sabelo got provoked and smashed Musa Khawula’s phone on the floor. He also claimed to have beaten the gossip blogger to a stupor. Musa, on the other hand, explained that he started filming when he saw Ntombeningi on the scene.

Even though he admitted that the radio presenter destroyed his phone, he denied that he physically assaulted him.

Khawula’s First Brawl with Moshe Ndiki

The notorious blogger had his first brawl with celebrated media personality Moshe Ndiki in August 2022. A few hours before the fight, Musa posted demeaning content about Moshe on Twitter. He claimed that he was living in a rented apartment and also said that he was not a good actor.

As Musa jokingly shared his location on that Sunday evening, asking his fans to buy him a drink if they happen to be in the same location, Moshe Ndiki capitalized on it and went to the place – White Sunninghill Bar in Johannesburg. There, he allegedly attacked Musa Khawula from behind, and a physical fight ensued. It was separated by the security guards at the restaurant.

Shortly after, Musa Khawula opened a case of common assault against the TV host. He also started a petition to get Moshe Ndiki suspended on Gomora. Nonetheless, Moshe became a hero in Mzansi after the assault video went viral, as several people seemed not to be happy with Musa’s blogging content.

Is Musa Khawula Gay?

Although Musa Khawula hasn’t publicly identified as gay, he’s known to have dated a fellow man. Khawula’s love life was exposed after he was indicted in the murder of Wandile Khambule, whom he identified as his romantic partner. Musa and Wandile Khambule were in a romantic relationship for a while before Wandile dumped him to date Sweetness Jaftha.

Did Musa Khawula Really Murder Wandile Khambule?

According to Wandile Khambule’s girlfriend, Sweetness Jaftha, her deceased partner was murdered by Musa Khawula. She narrated that Musa visited his ex-boyfriend, Khambule, at his residence in Vrendenburg to iron things out with him. They went outside the house to talk, and the next thing she saw was Khawula pursuing Wandile with a big knife and stabbing him.

Subsequently, a murder case was opened against the social media star. Though he was arrested for the murder of Wandile Khambule, he was eventually released on bail. Nevertheless, Musa had been making court appearances since then, and the case is still ongoing at present.

Speaking about the incident, Khawula narrated that he was injured on the arm by Khambule, and he went to his house for him to acknowledge the damage he had done.

To his surprise, Wandile Khambule told him that he would finish him off that day. And the next thing, he grabbed a beer bottle and threw it at him. He also alleged that the deceased broke the cast on his arm as he hit his injured arm. Then, in self-defense, he took a knife that was nearby and stabbed Khambule with it in order to get him off him.

Musa Khawula was Ordered to Pay over R500K in Damages

In March 2023, the Johannesburg High Court judge, Jordaan, ordered Musa Khawula to pay celebrity photographer Dumani Khuzwayo R500,000 in damages after he won a defamation lawsuit against him. Dumani filed a lawsuit against the social media personality after he alleged that he was among a group of young men hired by a Gauteng pimp to have sexual relations with older men.

Musa Khawula further insinuated in the tweet that the skilled photographer was at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. In his court papers, Dumani Khuzwayo stated that Khawula insinuated on a Twitter post shared on January 28th, 2023, that he was HIV positive. And the defamatory post was viewed and shared by some of his over 180,000 followers.

In addition to paying the fine, Musa Khawula was ordered to retract his statement and delete any related posts. He was also asked to write an undertaking that he will desist from making any further false or defamatory remarks about Khuzwayo and equally apologize to him on his social media handles.

Why Did Musa Khawula’s Account Get Suspended on Twitter?

Musa Khawula’s first Twitter account (@MusaKhawula) was suspended on Twitter after he violated the privacy regulations of the social media app. It happened that Musawenkosi Khawula shared a nude video of seasoned radio personality Sikhululo Maliwa (aka Lulo Cafe) on Twitter in September 2022.

As Lulo Cafe was seen drying his naked body in the video, many people realized that he was filmed unawares and so reported Musa Khawula to the Twitter management team for sharing the explicit video without Lulo’s consent. Consequently, Musa Khawula’s account was permanently suspended as several reports had been made against the account. Afterward, Musa moved on to open a new Twitter account (@realmusakhawula).
