Gomora is one of the latest Mzansi Magic hit series to follow. Produced by Seriti Films, Gomora follows the captivating storyline of two families and drama that ensures when their lives are inevitably intertwined. Gomora has been described as a show “created by South Africans for South Africans.”

It showcases the lives of South Africans; the good, the bad, and the ugly; the Kasi Lifestyle; the lure of power and money; crime, and so much more aptly depicted by talented Gomora cast members. With Gomora, you don’t have to worry about the popular cliches prevalent in most soapies these days.

1. Katlego Danke

Katlego Danke needs no introduction. She has starred in other popular series like Backstage, Generations, and Isidingo. And this time around, she brought on her A game. As Thathi Ndaba in Gomora, Katlego Danke is the gorgeous but dangerous daughter of the vicious Mam Sonto (played by Connie Chiume).

Katlego Danke is currently pregnant, and Bafana Mthembu has been rumored to be the actress’s baby daddy. The interesting thing is that the Gomora production team has effortlessly incorporated Katlego’s pregnancy into Gomora’s storyline! How amazing.

Apart from her job as an actress in the Gomora cast, Katlego is in the ever-lucrative South African real estate and property development business and has been doing well in the sector for many years now. The 45 years old Katlego recently spotted a new look, a fresh trim that matches her elegant style.

2. Thembi Seete

Thembi Seete plays the role of Gladys Dlamini in Gomora. The versatile actress portrays Gladys so beautifully that viewers always root for her. Thembi Seete is also a beautician. She, alongside Mbali Nkosi and Sharon Khuzwayo, owns a beauty bar Azuri Cosmetics. In addition to this lucrative business that she runs, Thembi, the Gomora cast, is also a brand ambassador of ponds and a  judge in season 18 of Idols South Africa.

As for her private life, she was once engaged to businessman Collen Mashawana. However, the engagement was called off. The couple has a son, Dakalo, born in April 2018.

3. Connie Chiume

In light of the recent tragic death of Gomora actor Siyabonga Zubane, the seasoned actress revealed that she almost took her own life 20 years ago when her baby daughter died. The mother of four certainly understands the pain of loss. Connie Chiume latest project is the second installment of the Black Panther franchise, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

4. Ama Qamata

Ama Qamata plays the role of teenager Buhle Ndaba in Gomora. Ama’s portrayal of Buhle earned her a lot of praises from viewers who seem not to get enough of her. At the end of season 2, She became a guest cast member as she got busy with studies in Durban.

However, her character was finally killed off in season 3, so our budding actress wouldn’t be coming back to the set of Gomora. She has since moved on to other projects; plays a leading role in the Netflix hit series Blood & Water. Ama Qamata is also an entrepreneur; she runs her own recycling business, recycling plastic waste into packaging material.

5. Ntobeko Sishi

Ntobeko is also a show anchor, singer, and songwriter. His preferred genre is alternative RnB, with a touch of AfroBeats and Hip Hop. Some of his singles include; DC, All Night, and Either Way. His song ‘Nothing new’ was featured in a Netflix movie, Happiness Ever After.

6. Sicelo Bhuthelezi

Sicelo Buthelezi plays the role of Teddy, the son of an alcoholic mother, Zodwa (played by Sannah Mchunu). Viewers can’t seem to get enough of Sicelo’s special character Teddy. Sicelo already has 1.3 million followers on Instagram, rooting for him. Despite his character’s sad background and storyline, his ability to invoke empathy and love in viewers is second to none.

Sicelo won an Outstanding Newcomer Award at the 2020 Royalty Soapie Awards for this role. Sicelo is also a talented musician. He has featured in Black Motion’s track called Deeper North, and he has also worked with Mr. Jazziq. He has also received many endorsement deals, thanks to his charismatic and bubbly nature. Our favorite actor is also a football fan.

7. Sannah Mchunu

Sannah Mchunu hasn’t always had it this good. She was once in an abusive marriage but had to leave to save herself. This was the best decision she had ever made as the whole world loved her.

8. Siphesihle Ndaba

10. Lerato Mokoka

If you weren’t told, you wouldn’t know that this is Lerato Mokoka’s first time on the small screen. She is that good. Taking on the role of Tshiamo in Gomora, the talented young actress has truly made her mark as the granddaughter of Mam’ Santo.

Expectations are high regarding what else Lerato will bring on board as she continues exploring her potential in the entertainment industry. Lerato currently lives in Pretoria, Gauteng. She loves taking pictures for the gram and having a fun-filled life in general. As far as we know, she is dating anyone yet.

11. Khaya Mthembu

Khaya Mthembu plays Sbonga Madida in Gomora. He is the husband of Pretty (played by Siyasanga Papu). Khaya’s character is the voice of reason in an otherwise chaotic setting, and the actor does justice to his role beautifully. He is one character viewers are just happy to see mediate and bring. Khaya Mthembu has a beautiful girlfriend, whom he happily flaunts all over social media.

12. Velile Makhoba

Velile Makhoba plays Gugu. The young actress is indeed a gem as she captures the picture of a troubled teenager quite vividly. Her excellent acting skill has opened up more opportunities for talented actress. She is currently also a cast in the new e.tv series Black Box.

Velile is a traditional professional dancer specializing in African dance. Her love for dance has taken her worldwide, and she has won awards and hearts with lovely performances. She dreams of owning a dance production company aimed at teaching young people to dance as a form of expressing art.

13. Nandipha Khubone

Nandipha has confessed that sometimes she finds it difficult to separate her off-screen self from her on-screen character. She has even broken down after some of her scenes. As a rising actress, this experience is undoubtedly a learning curve for her, and she would become stronger.

14. Leera Mthethwa

Aside from her acting gig,  Leera is also a T.V Presenter, a professional MC, a voice artist, and a model, working under Alushi models. Busy as she is, the proud mother always has spare time for her two beautiful children, whom she never misses a chance to flaunt all over her social media.

15. Thulani Mtsweni

He is also a father. He has a young son Sanele Ngcebo Mnguni whom he co-parents with the boy’s mother.

16. Ntandazo Mndayi

Ntandazo Mndayi portrays the character Stompie on Gomora. His flawless delivery of the thuggish character of Stompie has captivated viewers. He is so good that you can’t help but ‘hate’ his character. Well, that is the mark of a talented actor. In fact, Ntandazo first came in as an extra before he was upgraded to a recurring cast member. I guess production didn’t want to lose out on a gem.

Ntandazo is a graduate with a Diploma in Marketing Management. Before landing his current role in Gomora, he worked as a marketing manager and installer at Lobega Blinds and Trading PTY. The actor has a beautiful daughter, who he flaunts all over his social media handle.

17. Siyabonga Zubane

  • Age: 25 years old

Siyabonga Zubane played the character of the car hijacker and criminal Sdumo. Siyabonga Zubane was a promising young actor dedicated to his craft, and his performance in the show is commendable. Unfortunately, Siyabonga Zubane passed away on 7 May 2022. The  25 years old was said to have committed suicide due to some personal challenges. He was buried on 15 May 2022.

18. Moshe Ndiki

19. Jessica Sithole

Jessica Sithole, who joined the cast of Gomora in season 3, plays the role of Nolo, Thathi’s right-hand woman. Nolo is certainly an interesting new character to spice up the show, and Jessica delivers in that department.

Jessica is a former beauty queen (Miss Glamorous Free State in 2017) and is currently a model. She is the brand ambassador for hair care brands Ruutos and Mud Studio Bloemfontein, a make-up services company.

20. Fezile Makhanya

Fezile Makhanya is also a speaker who has Mc’d a lot of events. He also runs a consultancy firm along with his wife, Nondyebo Dzingwa. The couple just had their son in October 2021, and our favorite presenter is enjoying his new role as a dad.

21. Aubrey Mmakola

Aubrey Mmakola joined the cast of Gomora in season 3 as Duncan Leballo, Sibongile’s sugar daddy. Aubrey Mmakola isn’t a newbie on the soapie scene. Aubrey Mmakola is undoubtedly a great addition to spice up things after the exit of some of the main characters from season 2.

22. Tiisetso Thoka

Thoka is also playing a role as Mandla in the upcoming Netflix production, Justice Served. This time, he plays a good guy, a shift from his traditional bad guy roles. Thoka’s Instagram followers will attest to the fact that he is a fitness fanatic. He loves spending time in the Gym, and he has an amazing body to show for it.

23. Zolisa Xaluva

The character of Melusi was brought to life by Zolisa Xaluva. As a complex character that experienced a drastic change from season 1 to season 2, Zolisa successfully carried viewers along with his convincing acting skills. Melusi might not be a likable character, but he is a well-played character, and we have Zolisa Xaluva to thank for that.

Unfortunately, due to a tight schedule, Zolisa Xaluva left the cast of Gomora in season 2. However, there is still a possibility of him returning to the show seeing that his character isn’t dead yet. As of now, Zolisa Xaluva is working on a Netflix project. He is set to play a soccer star in the Netflix feature film.

24. Siyabonga Xaba

Siyabonga Xaba plays the role of Langa, the firstborn son of Thathi. Siyabonga has been applauded for his performance on Gomora. Despite his young age, his performance was memorable, as he was able to depict the transformation of a teenager finding his way in the world.

His brilliant performance has opened new opportunities for the young actor to continue exploring his talent in new projects. Although fans hated to see him leave Gomora after his character was killed, there is no doubt we would be seeing him in new shows.

25. Israel Matseke-Zulu

Israel Matseke-Zulu played the villainous role of Don as one of Gomora cast members in the TV series. Don is Teddy’s (played by Sicelo Buthelezi) biological father on the show. Israel Matseke-Zulu’s portrayal of a criminal mastermind left fans begging for more. As we all know, Israel is an ex-convict, and there is no doubt that he brought his experience into play in this role.

Unfortunately, Israel Matseke-Zulu had to exit the show due to ill health. He was diagnosed with gangrene, an illness that eventually led to a leg amputation. Fans, of course, hated to see one of their favorite characters leave the show, but we are happy that he is recovering now and hopefully will come back stronger in the future.

26. Pakamisa Zwedala

Pakamisa Zwedala is in charge of bringing the brutal villain Qhoqhoqho to life. His excellent acting skills make Qhoqhoqho a force to reckon with. As a worthy opponent to Mam Sonto (played by Connie Chiume), he keeps the story interesting as he makes good at his threats and keeps his opponents and viewers on their toes. Pakamisa’s acting is so good that viewers actually ‘hate’ Qhoqhoqho.

Pakamisa Zwedala, although from a wealthy family, chose to be an entertainer, and it seems his investment is paying off. It paved the way for him in the competitive entertainment industry. After all, it looks like he made a good choice by choosing to be an actor as he has been winning big in his career. He debuted in the entertainment industry not long ago, but one can not tell he is a newcomer due to his excellent acting skills.

27. Ayanda Daweti

  • Age: 34 years old

Last on our list of Gomora cast members is Ayanda Daweti. He is someone you might know by his stage name Tuckshop Bafana.The musician cum actor is putting his acting skills on display in Gomora as the character Sizwe, the young and ambitious car wash owner dating Gugu. You can attest to his acting prowess if you have watched his performance in Scandal. This time around, he outperforms himself and is a delight to watch.

Ayanda Daweti enjoys success both on the work front and in his private life. In July 2022, Ayanda Daweti married his longtime girlfriend, Aaliyah, in a lavish ceremony at The Fortress Venue in Kempton Park. He is also into fashion and owns a clothing line.
