Arthur Zwane’s Salary, Coaching Qualifications and the Cars

Arthur Zwane’s salary of R800,000 per month made him the highest-paid coach in the Premier Soccer League before he was demoted to be the assistant coach of Kaizer Chiefs in June 2023.

Before transitioning to Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach, Arthur Jabulani Zwane first coached the club’s Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) team. He then became the assistant coach in May 2021 and reportedly earned a salary of R300,000. Following his appointment as Kaizer Chiefs’ manager, the Soweto native was allegedly paid R800,000. However, his current salary as the team’s assistant manager is yet to be made public.

How Much Is Arthur Zwane’s Salary Per Month?

As the manager of Kaizer Chiefs, Arthur Zwane’s salary was reportedly paid R800,000 monthly. He was the highest-paid manager in the PSL for a while, earning more than Manqoba Mngqithi of Mamelodi Sundowns, who reportedly earns R750,000 monthly. He signed a three-year contract as the team’s head coach on May 26th, 2022.

However, after failing to return the team to its past glory days, the 50-year-old was returned to his former position as the club’s assistant coach. Zwane was recruited as the coach of Kaizer Chiefs’ Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) team in the late 2010s, thanks to his illustrious playing career. He was nicknamed ‘10111’ by the Chiefs’ fans for his pace and last-minute goals, which helped the football club win major trophies.

After recording satisfactory performances with the team, he was appointed the assistant coach on May 27th, 2021. And Arthur Zwane’s monthly salary for the 2020/2021 season when he served was allegedly R300,000. Following the sacking of the Chiefs’ former coach, Stuart Baxter, Arthur Zwane was then made Kaizer Chiefs’ caretaker manager, and on May 26th, 2022, he became the team’s head coach.

Having earned hefty paychecks during his terms as Kaizer Chiefs’ assistant coach and manager, Arthur Zwane is said to be worth between $1 million and $5 million.

Arthur Zwane first attended coaching courses to get himself equipped before embarking on a coaching journey. He earned CAF A license and UEFA B1 Diploma before he was appointed Kaizer Chiefs’ Multichoice Discki Challenge (MDC) team head coach. Though he played the game at the highest level, Zwane realized that the coaching job was tough at the early stages of his coaching career.

He, however, prepared himself to embrace the challenges by taking things one step at a time. He believes it’s important to get coaching badges so that coaches will be giving the right information to the players. He further explained that if coaches don’t understand the game, the information they will be giving to the players would be more like setting them up for failure.

Having been a top player during his active career, Arthur Zwane was urged to go straight for a UEFA A license. He stated that he wasn’t in a hurry to be a first-team manager and desired to first help the young ones as the nation was lacking in developing players with confidence. Interestingly, after years of coaching young teams, the ex-midfielder was promoted to the position of first-team coach.

Despite being ranked the highest-paid PSL coach for some time, Arthur Zwane hasn’t yet publicized the model of the luxury cars he owns. He leads a private life and hardly shows off his wealth. While serving as the coach of Kaizer Chiefs’ Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) team, Zwane once lashed out at his players for showing off. Little wonder, he hardly displays the models of his cars on social media.

Born on September 1973, Arthur Zwane is 50 years old. His place of birth is Meadowlands, a suburb of Soweto in Gauteng Province. The retired footballer began his youth career at the age of 8 in 1981. He then joined Kaizer Chiefs in his late 20s and set remarkable records during his ten years spell at the club, where he eventually retired.
