Dumisani Zuma Was Suspended Twice By Kaizer Chiefs In Six Months

Kaizer Chiefs revealed in May 2022 that the KwaZulu-Natal-born footballer had been suspended again, the second time in six months. Zuma was first suspended in November 2021 for allegedly driving under the alcoholic influence, subsequently leading to his arrest.

He was later put in rehabilitation and stayed away from all club activities for almost 10 months. Local reports had suggested that the Chiefs deducted Zuma’s salary as a fine after his first suspension. Still, his representative later refuted the claim, insisting that his client’s salary was not deducted.

His second suspension was announced in May by the club, revealing that the winger would be banned from taking part in all club activities. Significantly, Dumisani’s second suspension came after scoring his first goal for the season in the Kaizer Chief’s 2-1 loss against Capetown city. The club management only announced that the winger breached the club code of conduct.

At the time of this writing, the club is yet to update the public on the matter, and neither the footballer nor his representative has issued a public statement on the ugly development.
