Despite their efforts to keep their marriage secret, Busisiwe Mkhwebane and David Skosana have been making the news headlines since the former’s Section 194 inquiry kicked off in mid-2022 when she got suspended as the Public Protector Advocate. They have been working together on the case, which has subjected the family to agony multiple times.
In May 2023, Skosana opened a case of extortion against Richard Dyantyi, who chairs the Section 194 inquiry, ANC Chief Whip Pemmy Majodina, and the late Tina Joemat-Pettersson. In his statement, he claimed he was asked by Tina to pay R600,000 (R200,000 each to the three MPs) to manipulate the parliamentary inquiry in his wife’s favor.
He moved on to release evidence that supported his extortion claims, and it has brought a new development to the inquiry. With David showing his wife unwavering support throughout the trial, Busisiwe Mkhwebane is said to be happy at home despite her career being on the line.

Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s husband, David Skosana, is the Executive Communication Director at SuperSport United. He has been carrying out the role for over a decade and equally doubles as the spokesperson of the Premier Soccer League club. In January 2023, Skosana met with the Mayor of Polokwane, Cllr Mosema Makoro John Mpe, to discuss the opportunities within the borders of Polokwane Municipality for SuperSport United and future partnerships as well.
Following his executive role at the club, David Skosana often pleads for support for SuperSport United, especially when they have a big game coming. His position at the PSL club has made him popular with football lovers in the country.

Is Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s Husband, David Skosana Dead?
In July 2021, Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s husband was rumored to have died from COVID-19, and the news got many SuperSport United fans shattered. However, the football club was quick to debunk the rumor, stating that David “Mazolman” Skosana is not dead. Though he tested positive for COVID-19 in 2020, he was treated properly and has since recovered.
Upon hearing the news of his death, the SuperSport spokesperson told news publications that the rumor was false and he was well and kicking.
Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s Family
Since Busisiwe Mkhwebane began working as the Public Protector Advocate under Jacob Zuma‘s regime, she has successfully managed to separate her professional life from her personal life. Hence, little information is available regarding her family life. While speaking at the South African Sheriff’s Society (SASS) in June 2019, she said that she was accused of poisoning her late husband, which is untrue.
However, she never went into detail about what happened to her late husband and when he died. Also, it’s unknown whether she had any children with her first husband before his death. And her marriage to Skosana is equally not known to have produced children. Nevertheless, Busisiwe and her second husband are said to be very happy together and understand each other’s heartbeats.
