Sullivan didn’t stay long in the entertainment industry. He lost interest in the movie world after his twin committed suicide in 2015. Since then, he had been living a private life well away from public scrutiny. His penchant to shun publicity notwithstanding, it was revealed that Sullivan is presently occupying the house he jointly bought with Sawyer in Riverside, California.

Sullivan Sweeten gained Popularity as a Child Actor

It was after the Sweeten family moved to California that Sullivan Sweeten commenced his acting career with his late twin brother. The identical duo was barely 18 months old when they started gracing the screen in the sitcom entitled, Everyone Loves Raymond.

The situational comedy was centered on Ray Barone’s day-to-day life as a sports columnist and acting the part of Ray’s son, Michael Barone, brought Sullivan to public notice at a young age.

Thanks to the memorable sitcom that ran from 1995 to 2005, Sullivan was exposed to acting with movie greats like Ray Romano (who depicted Ray Barone), Doris Roberts, Brad Garrett, Patricia Heaton, his big sis, Madylin Sweeten, Peter Boyle, and Monica Horan.

Sullivan Sweeten’s next outing was in 2002 when the juvenile actor joined the cast of Frank McKlusky, C.I. to depict the character of Young Frank, sharing the screen with A-listers like Dave Sheridan, Randy Quaid, and Dolly Parton. He also recorded an appearance in Disney’s Even Stevens before taking a long hiatus from acting. Sullivan made a brief comeback to the movies in 2017 when the Everybody Loves Raymond alum showed up in the short film called Casting as Jack. This time, he had his mum Elizabeth Anne Millsap on set.

Sullivan’s effort in Everybody Loves Raymond made him a nominee for Young Artist Award in the category of Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) – Young Actor Age Ten or Under but unfortunately, he didn’t win.

Playing Jack in Casting was Sweeten’s last onscreen role and he has not graced the screen since 2017. Many have concluded that his twin brother’s death was the youngster’s reason for quitting the movies which are not far from the truth.

Apart from his roles in the movies and television series, Sullivan Sweeten was also seen in a handful of documentaries. These include the 2004 docu-movie, TV Guide Close Up: From Comedy Club to Primetime, the 2014 docu-series called Pioneers of Television, and a second documentary series, Inside Edition which was done in 2015

The former juvenile actor appeared in two talk shows during his heydays in the movie world. In 2013, he was featured in an episode of What Not to Wear talk show. Three years later in 2016, the Everybody Loves Raymond actor surfaced on the set of The Dr. OZ Show where he opened up about his brother’s suicide.

Sullivan’s Twin Brother, Sawyer was also an Actor

Apart from Sullivan, other members of the Sweeten family also joined the entertainment industry. His twin brother Sawyer was part of the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond and so was their big sister, Madylin Anne-Michele Sweeten.

Sullivan and Sawyer’s acting careers were brief but Mady was the one that took her career to greater heights. She has proved to be a prolific actress with almost 30 movie credits under her belt.

Mady seems to be relevant in all genres of acting, she is in the movies, and in the television series, and currently working in stage production alongside her spouse, Sean Durrie who owns and runs, Loft Ensemble theatre company.

Sawyer Sweeten Sadly Took his Own Life in 2015

A couple of weeks before the twins turned 20 in April 2015, Sawyer Sweeten ended his life. The reason why the youngster gave up on life remained a mystery until the grapevine started speculating that it had to do with his sexuality.

According to “word on the street” Sullivan Sweeten’s twin started experiencing depression when his schoolmates began bullying him upon hearing that he was not straight. The depression was noticed by his mum Elizabeth who said she saw the signs but couldn’t decode them well. Sawyer even told people in his family that “he felt like he didn’t exist”, and at the end of the day, he considered death to be an escape from what he was feeling.

Sawyer visited his family home on that fateful day when he decided to end it all by putting a gun to his own head.

Their mum Elizabeth was the most devastated as she saw all the signs that could have led her to save Sawyer but failed to decode them.

Even the cast members in Everybody Loves Raymond also expressed shock at Sawyer’s death. They all came out to attend his funeral wearing his favorite colors, green and blue. To honor Sawyer at his burial, Sullivan Sweeten had to dye his hair blue.

Sawyer’s Death was Devastating to Every member of His Family

As expected, Sawyer’s twin brother, Sullivan Sweeten was devastated about his brother’s death. Besides, the fact that Sawyer couldn’t reach out to anyone in his darkest moment was very painful and led Sullivan into a depression that lasted a very long time.

Announcing his death, Sawyer’s big sister Madilyn urged everyone to always try and check up on their loved one to know the life battles they are fighting.

His baby sister Maysa Sweeten described her memories of Sawyer as very painful though they will remain dear to her. She started having panic attacks every time she remembered her late big brother and to date, Maysa said she will never forget. Reports said she also suffered from lack of sleep, Insomnia.

What is Sullivan Sweeten doing Now?

Following his twin’s death, Sullivan Sweeten fell off the radar of the media which made it impossible to keep track of what he is doing both personally and professionally.

However, reports said he resides in Riverside, California in a home he bought with Sawyer before his demise. Many of the former child actor’s fans have experienced curiosity about his current relationship status but no answers are forthcoming.

How Much Is He Worth?

Several sources have given varying estimations for Sweeten’s net worth. While some said he is worth less than a million, many others took it above one million. However, the majority of these sources pegged his fortune at $1 million.

Reports said Sullivan earned a huge part of his wallet from the role he played in the memorable situational comedy known as Everybody Loves Raymond.
