He Lost His Brother In 2015
Before he died in 2015, Ahmad Givens aka Real, was Kamal Givens’ closest sibling. One was involved in whatever the other did. They appeared together on several reality TV shows including I Love New York, Real Chance of Love, Real Chance of Love 2, and Real & Chance (The Legend Hunters).
In 2013, the late rapper and reality TV star was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which left him needing surgery and chemotherapy. He seemed to have escaped the worst of it after the treatments he received but things became worse in January 2015 after a nasty fall left him bedridden. Kamal Givens’ younger brother succumbed to the disease on February 21, 2015.
His younger brother’s death left him devastated and in pain, emotions which prompted a teary-eyed Instagram tribute where he referred to the late Ahmad as his favorite guy in the world and essentially told him to rest in peace.
