Mariann Barrena McClay is a Canadian businesswoman best known as the wife of  Carlo Ancelotti, the legendary Football manager.

Mariann and Carlo started dating in 2011 and were together for three years before getting married in 2014. The couple has lasted more than eight years together and is still going strong. While the celebrity duo doesn’t share any children, Mariann brought her grown-up daughter Chloe into the marriage. Carlo also has two children a son and a daughter from a past relationship.

Mariann Barrena McClay celebrates her birthday every 1st of January but her year of birth is unknown. We were only told that she is a Canadian, born in Vancouver.

The Vancouver native is the daughter of a Canadian businessman called Antonio Barren. Her mum, María Concepción Gutiérrez is a small-scale trader. She has not disclosed the identities of her siblings if any.

Mariann’s early academic journey was not captured but it is common knowledge that she is well-educated and is a Ph.D. holder. Mariann is an alum of Fraser University where she accomplished her first degree. She did her MBA in marketing at Thunderbird School of Global Marketing. The quest for further academic qualifications took her to Cass Business to study finance at a Ph.D. level

Though Mariann Barrena McClay’s major claim to fame is being the second wife of Carlo Ancelotti, she is more than the football coach’s spouse. Mariann is a wheeler-dealer and owner of Mondo Uomo Enterprises Ltd where she wields the big stick as the chairperson.

Before launching her own business concern, the Vancouver native worked with Dayton Mining Corp’s public and investors department. She acted as a consultant with Barclays Bank, Elsworthy Capital, and the Data Miners. From the above-mentioned, it is glaring that she is successful as a businesswoman.

Mariann Barrena McClay Became Carlo Ancelotti’s Wife in 2014

Mariann Barrena McClay married Carlo Ancelotti in July 2014. The duo first met three years earlier in 2011 when Carlo was managing the famed football team, Chelsea. Mariann was a staff of Barclays Bank as a consultant.

The duo fell in love immediately after their first encounter and needless to say, a romantic relationship ensued. They went on to date for the next three years and culminated their relationship in an intimate wedding ceremony witnessed by family and close friends of the bride and groom. The event which was hosted in West Vancouver was graced by celebrities like David Foster

Mariann and Carlo have been going strong for more than eight years and their relationship is beginning to look like the happily-ever-after type.

She has a Daughter from her Previous Marriage 

Ancelotti is actually the second husband of Mariann Barrena McClay, however, because she keeps details about her first marriage under wraps, fans thought otherwise. The only information about the businesswoman’s ex that is in the open is that his last name is McClay. Mariann has also confirmed that McClay is the biological father of her only child, Chloe McClay.

Mariann’s only biological child, Chloe, is currently in England pursuing higher education. She attends Tring Arts Educational School. Though Chloe has no blood ties with her mum’s second husband, Carlo, she enjoys an amiable relationship with the football manager. The reverse is also the case.

By the time Carlo and Mariann exchanged wedding vows in 2014, his children were already grownup – Katia was already 30 while her younger brother, Davide was above 25. However, Mariann still built a good relationship with each of them.

Carlo Ancelotti also has Two Children from his First Marriage 

Carlo Ancelotti is a highly-decorated football manager in Europe and beyond. The Italian sportsman is with Real Madrid, one of the most iconic football clubs in the world. He has also managed other notable football clubs like Reggiana, Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Everton, Napoli, and many more.

Carlo’s stints as manager of Real Madrid and Milan saw him win the UEFA Champions four times – twice with Milan and twice with Real Madrid.

Before becoming a football manager, Mariann Barrena McClay’s husband played active football at a professional level.

Mariann is not Carlo’s first wife. The football manager was previously married to Luisa Gibellini with whom he shares two children, Davide Ancelotti, (b. 1989) and Katia Ancelotti, daughter (b. 1984).

David followed Carlo’s footsteps and is currently with Everton as an assistant coach. He is equally married with twin sons, Lucas and Leon. Katia who is a photographer is also married. She wedded a couple of months before her dad and Mariann’s wedding in 2014.

Mariann is a Strong and Vocal Supporter of her Husband

Mariann Barrena McClay has always been a supportive wife to Carlo right from the word go, standing by his side for every major football event.

When Carlo was unveiled as Real Madrid’s new coach, Mariann was with him. In April 2017 while Ancelotti was functioning as Bayern Munich’s manager, his wife was quick to brand the officials “a disgrace”. This incident followed Bayern’s controversial 4-2 defeat to Real Madrid FC during the Champions League quarter-finals.

While she gets busy with her business, Mariann Barrena McClay never shies away from providing unflinching support to her spouse. She always follows the football icon wherever and whenever he scores a new position.

It is not always business for the couple as they also make out quality time for pleasure. They have been severally seen on romantic vacations together. Fans of the football icon often spot him at concerts with his spouse and they always attend events and occasions with a united front.
