Freddie Simpson: Who is She and What Happened To Her?

Freddie Simpson (born in 1963; Age: 61) is a former model and actress who is currently a resident of South Virginia, where she practices acupuncture.

Freddie initially wanted to forge a career path in sports but later moved into modeling. She also tried her hands at acting, recording a total of six movie roles before quitting and moving into acupuncture. Today she has her own company where she practices as an acupuncturist in Virginia.

Freddie Simpson’s year of birth is listed as 1963. Though her exact day and month of birth are not known, she is currently 61 and was born in Louisville, Kentucky. An American by nationality, she goes by the full name Fredda Marie Simpson, but her ethnic background is White.

Nothing much is known about Freddie’s family background and growing up years, but it is common knowledge that she spent her formative years in Kentucky. However, nothing has been said about her family members.

Growing up in Northern Kentucky, she began picking interest in sports at age four, and at 15, she was already excelling in sporting activities like basketball, volleyball, and softball.

Freddie joined Villa Madonna Academy located outside Covington, Kentucky, where she achieved her high school graduation. The Louisville native continued excelling in different sports as a high school student which earned her a sought-after athletic scholarship. Armed with her scholarship, Freddie was able to proceed to the University of Kentucky, but she couldn’t complete her studies and dropped out during her senior year.

Dropping out of the university wasn’t the end of Simpson’s academic pursuit, as reports revealed that she came back later in life to acquire a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Herbology. She joined the Southern California-based graduate school, Yo San University, to achieve this feat, graduating with distinctive honors as top of her class.

Modeling Was her First Port of Call

At a point in her life, Freddie had to shelve her long-held dreams of ending up as a sports personality to join the modeling industry. Prior to her modeling gig, she engaged in menial jobs to make end meet; one of the jobs she tried her hands on was at a tobacco farm. It was after Simpson left the farm that she went into the cosmetics and fashion industry as a model.

Freddie’s career in modeling saw the then-young runway queen become a signee of the Prestige Modelling Agency, and with time, she started making appearances on several television commercials. The peak of her modeling career, which lasted just a few months, was her appearance in the commercials for Nissan automobile manufacturing company.

She Recorded Six Acting Roles 

After Freddie got dissatisfied with the modeling world, the former model went to see what the acting world had in store for her. She made her debut in Hollywood in 1989 by depicting the character of Rose O’Shea in the television movie, Thunderboat Row. It was in the same year that she signed up with an LA-based acting agency that saw her transition from modeling to acting.

A couple of years later, in 1991, the former model joined the cast of Popcorn as Tina. Freddie Simpson scored her best-known role in 1992 as Ellen Sue Gotlander on the set of the short comedy film, A League of Their Own. Simpson was offered a reprisal of the same role when the movie was made into a TV series in 1993; she appeared in one episode.

She had to wait till 1996 to score her next role, which occurred on the set of the television series called Tracey Takes On, breathing life into the character of Deborah in a single episode. Simpson was last seen essaying the role of a mother in the series Blue in 2002.

Freddie Simpson is an Acupuncture

After obtaining her master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Herbology, Freddie Simpson scored a job at the Yosan Clinic; she also worked with the Venice Pain Clinic and later maintained her own private practice in Venice Beach, CA. She eventually spent 25 long years in California.

Relocating from CA to Virginia in the month of May 2011, Freddie began practicing at RMT: she stayed with the company until July 2015. There was a time she was employed at the Halo Salt Spa.

She Runs a Company

While working as an acupuncture expert, Freddie was garnering the needed experience to launch her own company. This became a reality in 2018 when she set up her firm outside Charlottesville, Virginia, in her neighborhood. Today, the former model parades herself as a healer providing clients with traditional Chinese treatment for stress management.

To process the treatment, she inserts her patients’ bodies with thin needles at strategic points. The acupuncturist teaches yoga and some of the therapies she works with include sound and salt therapy. She also dishes out useful advice on nutrition and diet.

Freddie Simpson makes use of cupping, herbal remedies, electromagnetic stimulation, Tuina massage, and essential oils to treat her clients.

Freddie Simpson’s Personal Life

Going by what we could sieve from reports, Freddie Simpson is a married woman. Her spouse has been identified as Stephen Brannam, whom she dated around the early 1990s when both of them were part of the acting world. Stephen is known for his starring role in stage performance as James Dean in Dress Rehearsal.

Their union is blessed with a daughter whose identity is not known. However, it is common knowledge that she is now a grown woman and forging her own path in life. Freddie and her family reside in Charlottesville, Virginia, in the United States, with three dogs and a cat.
