Telkom Self-Service – How to Login and What You Can Do on the Portal

Telkom is one of the biggest telecommunications companies in South Africa. The company operates in 38 countries in Africa, including Nigeria and Kenya. Digital companies have played major roles in the tech revolution in South Africa. Like other network providers, they have taken advantage of the fast-growing internet community to improve their service and customers’ satisfaction.

Rather than always having to visit a Telkom outlet to lay complaints and perform certain functions, you can now have access to several services from the comfort of your home by registering your Telkom self-service account. At any time, you can log in to your Telkom self-service portal and perform a wide range of services – by yourself.

Although certain situations may require that you visit an outlet, you should take advantage of the Telkom self-service portal as a Telkom user.

How To Create and Register An Account in the Telkom Self-service Portal

To make use of the services available in the Telkom self-service portal, you have to register. The registration process is straightforward and does not require you to visit a Telkom outlet because the entire process can be done online with your smartphone, and you don’t need a customer care agent to work you through the process.

To create and register an account in the Telkom customer portal at your comfort and convenience, follow the steps below. A laptop will be a preferable gadget for a better user experience, but you can use a smartphone in its absence.

  • Visit the Telkom register page on their website.
  • Fill in the required details on the Telkom Self-service registration form. You will be required to give details like your SA identity number, name (including surname), and email address.
  • Note that your email address should be used as your username.
  • You will be required to create an eight-digit strong password that contains a number and alphabets (both upper and lower cases).
  • An OTP will be sent to the email address you provided. You are to input this OTP before you can continue with the process. This must be done in less than three minutes after receiving the OTP, or else you will require another one.
  • Go through the terms and conditions, and if you agree with them, click on Agree. Note that if you do not click on agree, you can’t continue the registration process.
  • Click or tap on next to complete your self-service portal registration.

To access your self-service portal subsequently, you will need your username and password, so you may want to keep this information in mind.

You can buy data bundles from the self-service portal
