Amanda Dandala was born in Umalzi, a rural area in KwaZulu-Natal province on the 27th of April 2022. She was raised in the township as well alongside her siblings. It’s unclear the exact number of siblings she has but one of them is South African DJ, record producer, and songwriter, Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, professionally known as Black Coffee.
Black Coffee’s sister attended Ridge Park College, one of Durban’s top girls’ high schools. She earned her National Senior Certificate in 2009. In addition to serving as the softball captain and hockey vice-captain for her school, she was also a member of the provincial softball team.
