Vili Fualaau has no new wife, and his ex-wife, Mary Kay Letourneau, died of colon cancer in 2020 at the age of 58.

Does Vili Fualaau Have a New Wife

If the fillers we are getting are anything to go by, then Vili Fualaau doesn’t have a new wife. However, he became a father for the third time in November 2022. His last daughter is a girl called Sophia.

Vili’s second daughter Georgia was the one who made the announcement, promising to stand by baby Sophia as she starts her life journey.

What Happened to Vili Fualaau’s Ex-wife?

Mary Kay Letourneau died on July 6th, 2020, and even before her death, Mary Kay was no longer married to Vili Fualaau. However, after their divorce was finalized in 2019, Mary was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer or cancer of the colon.

The sad news led Vili, who obviously still harbored feelings for his ex, to uproot his life and return to Mary in California, where he stood by her sick bed until the teacher breathed her last.

Talking about the experience, Mary’s attorney, David Gehrke, said it meant the whole world to his client that Vili could find it in his heart to do so much for her. She died at the age of 58.

Vili and his High School Teacher, Mary Kay, Began Dating in the 90s.

Vili Fualaau’s ex-wife had quite a tumultuous life. Mary Kay was a married woman with four children when she met Vili, who just turned 12. He was one of the students she received in her class in sixth grade.

According to the stories that made the headlines in the late 90s, Mary started lusting after Vili, which led her to have carnal knowledge of a minor placed under her watch. When her case was called up in 1997, she was accused of two counts charges of felony/offense second-degree rape of a minor, to which she pleaded guilty.

She proceeded to serve six months sentence with three months suspended after signing an agreement of no further contact with her victim. She was already pregnant before going to jail and had Vili’s first daughter, Audrey, while in prison.

Upon her release, Mary and Vili Fualaau were found together in a car which led to her second prison sentence that lasted seven years and six months. History repeated itself while Mary was in jail for the second time. She was also confirmed to be pregnant again and had her second daughter (Georgia) with Vili behind bars.

She never really got the chance to nurse her two children, but her young lover’s mother stepped in to take care of them. Mary only got to properly meet and spend time with her children in 2004 after her final release.

They Wedded in 2005, and Their Marriage Lasted Long

By the time Mary secured her release from prison, Vili was already an adult of 21 and had to petition the court to let him meet with his baby mama. Though Mary was still regarded as a registered sex offender in Washington, they had to drop the restraining order and grant Vili his wish.

The couple tied the knot in 2005 in front of 250 guests at a Washington-based winery. Their 20 years age gap did not deter them from finding love together despite the criticism people heaped on them. Mary and Vili’s two daughters were all grown up and served as their parents’ flower girls.

Vili Fualaau and Mary Kay’s union went on to last for the ensuing 12 years, but sadly, they filed for divorce in 2017. They still maintained a united front after filing for divorce and were often seen out and about town in Seattle together until their marriage was finally dissolved in 2019.
