Claire Till Is One Year Younger Than George Kittle

Claire Kittle was born on the 24th of May 1994 to the family of Shelley Till (mother) and Marty Till (father). She is a Gemini and a practicing Christian. Compared to her husband who was born on the 9th of October 1993, Claire is only a year younger.

She was born and raised by her parents in Iowa USA alongside her younger brother named Riley Till who also happens to be her only sibling. According to reports, Claire’s parents were both athletic when they were young. Her mother, Shelley, played basketball as a part of the basketball team at Drake University and was a champion. After college, Shelley worked as a basketball coach for a couple of years.

Her father, Marty, on the other hand, was a baseball player. He played baseball with the Northern IOWA university team during his university days.

Claire Is Also Athletic Like Her Parents

Claire Till took the athletic spirit of her parents. She attended Wahlert Catholic high school in Iowa and was one of the top basketball players for the school’s team during her time. She was the school’s third all-time leading scorer and also bagged a nomination for the McDonald’s All-American award.

After matriculating from High School, Claire got accepted into the University of Iowa where she continued playing basketball for the school’s team for four years. During these years, she had an average of 1.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

Her Athletic Career Was Cut Short By Knee Injuries

Claire Till had to stop playing the sports she loved in order to save her legs. On the 21st of February 2017, a day that marked the one-year of what seemed like a career-ending knee surgery anniversary, Claire took to her blog to share her knee surgery experience.

According to her, the surgery that ensured she would no more play basketball was not the regular knee surgery. It was called Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy with a Patella Cartilage Transplant and she spent days in the hospital after her surgery for the doctors to monitor her. It was more emotionally draining because that particular surgery in 2016 was her fifth surgery.

After her first four surgeries, she was able to get back to the field and compete, but after this one, she knew it was time to allow herself to heal in order to live a healthy day-to-day life. But according to her, she had no plans of playing basketball after school, so the knee injury did not exactly cut her career short.

Claire decided to share her experience on her blog as a means of encouraging other athletes who may be going through what she went through. After graduating from college, she ran a personal fitness training business in IOWA City

Claire Till and George Kittle Met In 2012

The love story of Claire Till and George Kittle began in 2012 when they were both freshmen at the University of IOWA. According to George, the first time he saw Claire, it was not exactly love at first sight. He was standing in front of his dormitory while she was in the parking lot.

Although he says it was not love at first sight, something about her got to him that day because while looking at her, he asked his friends who she was and they had nothing encouraging to tell him. However, he decided to walk up to her. After their first meeting, they became friends and they remained friends for about eight months after which they started dating.

They Got Engaged In 2018

Claire Till and George Kittle kept dating throughout their college days and he was there when she was going through her knee surgery. Unlike most college relationships, they did not end with their college graduation.

As years passed by, their love grew stronger and both of them knew they wanted to spend forever with each other, and George had the perfect plan on how to ask Claire to be his wife. George told Claire that the San Francisco 49ers staff were doing a piece to cover NFL couples, so they would have to be followed by photographers.

Claire had her suspicions about what George told her. She believed that it was a ploy to propose to her but George’s mother talked her off her thoughts claiming George he did not even have a ring yet. Claire quashed the thoughts even though she felt disappointed as she believed it was a good time to propose.

On the 10th of August 2018, George Kittle took Claire to Santa Cruz’s Twin Lakes State Beach for the supposed NFL couples piece the San Francisco 49ers staff were working on and according to the plan, photographers, videographers, and the entire 49ers media team were present.

At some point, the photographer asked Claire to turn and face George and on turning, she saw him kneeling on one knee and with a smile on his face, and he asked her to marry him.

In 2019, Claire Till Became George Kittle’s Wife After A Secret Wedding

In April 2019, just before the start of another NFL football season, the lovebirds decided to get married quickly, before football takes all the attention.

The wedding took place in a friend’s jewelry store in Iowa City and was attended by only close friends and family members. The owner of the jewelry store was benevolent enough to adorn Claire, her mom, and George’s mom and sister with beautiful pieces of jewelry while George’s father Bruce officiated their wedding.

This may not have been the wedding fans expected, however, it was the type of wedding Claire Till dreamed of. She always admired the idea of eloping and going to the courthouse to get married without much planning.
