Oakes Wayne is Sarah Wayne Callies’ second child, albeit he was adopted. Oaks was born in August 2013, the same year that Sarah and Josh adopted him. The details of his biological parents are not known, but according to reports, he came from an interracial background, and there are insinuations that his adoptive parents had to travel out of the United States to adopt him, but the name of his country of origin is not known.

Talking in an interview session while recording her series entitled Council of Dads, Sarah let the world know that she got her son through a transracial adoption process. The American actress also revealed that she never lost touch with Oakes’ biological mum, and they still talk to date.

Talking about the hassles of juggling her acting profession with parenting, Sarah admitted to People that it was far from easy, but her supporting husband, whom she described as a blessing, makes life bearable for her.

Talking further about Josh’s position in their family, Sarah said he is their family’s rock who has given them roots and security and plays a major role in keeping them together.

Sarah also described how having children made her decide to move out of LA, where her job is to set up a home in a remote part of Canada where he children would have enough room to run around, enough trees to climb, and enough beaches to visit.
