Meet Eja Lange, Shania Twain’s Son

Eja Lange (born August 12, 2001) is the 22 year-old son of  Shania Twain, the Canadian singer, and her ex-husband, Robert Lange. 

Eja’s mother was one of the most popular singers of the 1990s, with hit songs like “You’re Still the One,” “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and “From This Moment On,” all of which were singles from her 1997 hit album, Come On Over. Riding on his mother’s coattails, Eja has also found himself somewhat in the public eye. Here’s what you need to know about this offspring of Shania’s.

Eja Lange is Presently 22 Years Old

Eja Lange was born on August 12, 2001, to the award-winning singer, producer, and songwriter, Shania Twain, and her then-husband Robert John Lange. His father is an Australian music executive. Eja is Canadian by birth and is of Caucasian ethnicity.

He practices Christianity which is his mother’s religion. Eja belongs to the Gemini zodiac sign. His parents got divorced when he was very young, and he was eventually raised with an older step-sister named Joanna after his mother remarried.

Eja was born in Ontario, Canada, and that is where he was schooled. While there is little known about his educational background, Shania has severally hinted that her son attended a private high school in her Canadian home country.

Considering his current age, Eja is most likely in college. There is heavy speculation that he is studying music in college especially seeing as he is already starting to strike out on his own as a musician. He hasn’t yet graduated college.

Shania Twain and Her Ex-husband Have a Long, Ugly History Together  

Eja Lange’s mother, Shania Twain, is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Shania is a 5-time Grammy winner as well as a record-breaking bestselling artist. She has reportedly sold over 100 million music records throughout her career. These numbers make her the best-selling female artist of the mid-1990s.

His father, Robert Lange, on the other hand, is a South African record producer and music executive. Shania and Robert were happily married for years, or so we thought, until their marriage crashed.

The “Queen of Country Pop,” as she is fondly called, first met record producer Robert Lange back in the early 90s. They seemed to share a lot in common since they were both in the same industry and soon, they got very attached to each other. He even produced one of Shania’s albums as well.

On December 28, 1993, Shania got married to the love of her life at the time. The Billboards country charts-topper soon welcomed her first and only child, Eja, nearly seven years after they got married.

However, tragedy struck the young family a few years after. On May 15, 2008, it was reported that Shania and her husband were separating from one another. At first, it seemed like the news just came out of nowhere. However, a few investigative reports revealed some rather interesting family secrets.

According to several speculations, Shania filed for divorce from Robert because of his infidelity. The record producer was reportedly having an extramarital affair with none other than Shania’s best friend, a woman named Marie-Anne Thiébaud.

Eja Lange’s Mother Remarried in 2011

Shania Twain was understandably devastated by the news, and she didn’t take it very well. Still, things worked out for her in the most unexpected manner. After her divorce, she found solace in the arms of Marie-Anne’s husband.

Yes, the two scorned partners partnered up. It seemed a little awkward to the public at the time, but their friendship of convenience eventually blossomed into something much stronger. They got married in 2011, the year after the conclusion of Shania’s divorce.

Shania’s new husband, Frederic Thiébaud, is a businessman. He is an executive at the Swiss Nestle group of companies. He became Shania’s second husband in 2011 and also the stepfather to Eja. Shania, in turn, gained a stepdaughter in the person of Joanna Thiébaud, Frederic’s only child from his own failed marriage.

Together, they have raised their two children in peace and harmony for the last 11 years. To date, there have been no controversies surrounding their marriage, and it seems like Shania finally got it right this time.

The Young Singer Has One Stepsister

Shania Twain isn’t shy to admit that Eja is the absolute love of her life. And why wouldn’t he be? He is the only biological child of the singer. Eja didn’t grow up with siblings as a little kid but gained a sibling after his mother married Frederic.

Frederic is the father to Johanna Thiébaud, his only child with ex-wife Anne-Marie. Eja and Johanna are the same age. There isn’t much that is exactly known about their relationship with each other as they are both very private people.

Eja Lange is a Musician 

Before he turned 21 years old, Lange was already making his own strides in the music industry. He has reportedly been making music for quite some time, according to his mother. She goes on to say that her son is “very devoted and a real hard worker. He’s got a crazy passion for making music, and it’s really fun to watch”.

Eja is a songwriter and music producer. He seems to be more interested in making music than performing it, which seems to make his mother happy. According to Shania, the pressure to perform can sometimes be too much, so she is grateful that he prefers to make music for others to perform instead.

The country singer also revealed that she and her son had already collaborated on several music projects, hinting at a new release soon. Eja listens to a very wide range of songs and isn’t seeking to stick to any one particular music type. While he prefers to keep his business on the low, it seems like Eja’s chosen career pays extremely well.

While many questioned how Eja had been able to afford such a luxury at such a young age, major reporters have revealed that he purchased the home himself, without help from his multimillionaire mother.
