This is following a claim by a Twitter user under the name of The Notorious J.O.V (Whotsfisjovana), who made a tweet with a picture of the duo, asserting that no one informed her that SZA and Nye had already been dating for eight months.
The 2017 photo was first shared by SZA on Instagram, where she revealed that she missed Bill and the time when people were nicer. Fast forward to 2022, when the singer released a track from her SOS album titled “Kill Bill” in which she talked about carrying out an act of revenge on an ex-lover, fans believed the ex-lover was Bill Nye. The narrative remained on social media even though she got the song title from the martial arts film that ran by the same name from 2003 to 2004.
From Twitter, where the rumor began, it soon went wild on Tiktok, where the song was receiving good play. Bill obviously seemed to have no time for such frivolities as he did not say anything in regard to the rumors. However, SZA gave an epic response when she posted, “To hell… Yall gotta go to hell.” She accompanied her response what crying emojis, and that settled the matter.

SZA and Bill Nye did not date, but they still had a good relationship in spite of their age difference of more than three decades. It is not clear how their paths crossed or at what time they met for the first time, but it is clear that they are terrific friends.
The first indication that they have a good relationship came with the aforementioned Instagram post by SZA, where she declared that she was missing Bill. Soon the celebrity scientist also shared a different photo of the two of them, although it was clear that the two photos were taken at the same event. Bill also stated that he was missing the singer and actress.
These happened to be the first and only times that either of them shared a photo of the other on social media. More so, they were never referenced together at any other time, and neither were they ever sighted together in public.
