They, therefore, set up several procedures, including a no-fly list. People whose names were on the list were deemed to have terrorist links and were forbidden entry into the U.S. In September 2004, Maymanah and her dad were flying from London to Washington when their flight was diverted to Maine. Her father was subsequently detained by the FBI. He denied having any links to terrorists but this fell on deaf ears. He was asked to leave the U.S. while Maymanah was allowed to stay with one of her uncles in the U.S.
The whole saga caused an uproar with the deputy secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain criticizing what had happened as a slap in the face of sanity. On a personal note, it was a very agonizing time for father and daughter who were forcefully separated from each other. Yoriyos Adamos Also Serves as His Dad’s Manager
Cat Stevens has performed with his son on several occasions. The award-winning singer has even revealed that it was his son that helped him to rediscover his passion for music. According to him, being in close proximity to his son’s guitar tempted him to pick up the instrument and once he did so, it was like a floodgate was opened. He could play and sing some words that he had been writing and this motivated him to rejig his musical career. Cat Stevens dropped his first album in 28 years, An Other Cup, in 2006.
He subsequently went on various tours to promote it and his son was right there with him. Unlike his children who avoid social media, Cat Stevens is quite active on Facebook and uses it to promote his music and charity work. A glance through his Facebook page will clue one into the fact that the peace train crooner is quite crazy about his grandchildren. He usually posts pictures of himself playing with his beautiful grandchildren and alludes to the need to savor such activities as time is passing by. The singer has also been pictured carrying one of his grandkids while performing on stage.
Though their exact names are not available, it is known that Cat Stevens has about nine grandchildren. The first is a granddaughter named Ariana-Amelia.
