Fourways Postal Code and A List of Important Places You Can Visit

In recent years, Fourways has rapidly developed following the construction of commercial and residential buildings in the district. It is located in Sandton, north of Johannesburg, South Africa. It was originally part of the 245-hectare game farm and residence owned by the Eriksen family. The district was named Fourways based on the four-way stop where Witkoppean Road met William Nicol Drive. Its symbol shows the Greater Fourways suburb’s major thoroughfare with two four-way roundabouts on Kingfisher Drive intersecting Robin Drive and Alexander Avenue.

On the east and south of Fourways lies Bryanston. It is bordered to the west by Randburg and Pretoria to the northeast, as well as Magaliesberg Mountains and Hartebeespoort Dam to the northwest. The district’s total population is 3,860 and the racial makeup as of 2011 consists of black African (22.1 percent), Indian/Asian (4.3 percent), white (70.4 percent), colored (1.7 percent), and other races (1.5 percent).

Is Fourways a Suburb?

The district is a collection of suburbs that include the traditional suburb of Fourways. As the fastest developing residential and commercial centre of Sandton, Fourway comprises many suburbs and estates. The Suburbans include the Western area of William Nicol Drive and a small portion of the Eastern area that are collectively known as the Fourways suburb. The Norscot Slopes, Magalies View, Broadacres, Lonehill and Beverley, Norscot, Bryanston Ext. 34, Craigavon, and many Magaliessig extensions are other suburbs located in Fourways.

Also, the district encompasses estates such as the Fourways Gardens, Dainfern Ridge, Cedar Creek, Dainfern, Fernbrook Estate, Cedar Lakes, and Dainfern Valley. While the Fourway Gardens, Cedar Lakes, and Fernbrook Estate are situated in parks with a small nature enclosure, Dainfern lies on a golf course. The first languages in Fourways include Afrikaans, English, Zulu, and Northern Sotho.

Is The Postal Code One For All Areas Under Fourways?

Each area in a country has its specific postal agencies, post offices, and mail collection points. As such, a four-digit number known as postal code is used to represent the area for the purpose of sorting and delivery of mails. A postal code which is sometimes referred to as postcode, zip code, or PIN can also consist of a series of letters or both digits and alphabets that sometimes include punctuation or spaces. In South Africa, the postal code is mainly a four-digit number that ranges from 0001 to 9999.

The numbers, however, have been split into street codes and post boxes. Thus, Fourways’ postal code is 2055 and the street code is 2191. Interestingly, the street code is the same in all the suburbs except Norscot with 2196 street code. Also, the postal code is the same in the majority of Fourways suburbs and estates such as Dainfern, Fourways Gardens, Dainfern Valley, Dainfern Ext 19, Fourways Ext 55, Dainfern Ext 34, Fourways Ext 12, and Norscot. However, there are some suburbs in Fourways with different postal codes. They include Dainfern North (2174) and Riverside View (2191).
