Sonia Mbele’s son, Donell Mbele, was born on May 25th, 2001, and is 22 years old. The actress cum producer had her first child at the age of 24. She was with Donell’s father from the age of 17 to 26 and suffered physical, psychological, and emotional abuse at the hands of her partner. Mosa Sedibe is Sonia Mbele’s Daughter
Born on February 25th, 2011, Mosa Sedibe is 13 years old. She is Sonia Mbele’s only daughter and the businesswoman gave her ‘mini-me’ the moniker, Mooksie. She loves dancing and is also an animal lover, especially dogs. Hence, her mom has plans of getting her a farm to breed dogs.
Donell Mbele’s Assault Case
On November 22nd, 2022, Donell’s ex-girlfriend, Reokeditswe Makete shared photos of her swollen and bruised face on Instagram alleging that she was assaulted by Sonia Mbele’s son. She also shared a video where she alleged that Donell Mbele was logging her out of her accounts and deleting every post that implicated him.
Reokeditswe shared an alleged conversation she had with Donell online, where he admitted to almost killing and raping his former girlfriend. He obviously felt remorse for his actions and thus, broke up with her, telling her that she deserves someone better than him. According to Zimoja, the couple’s relationship was very toxic, having had numerous fights before their separation. Makete is said to be short-tempered and suffers from depression.
She was a jealous girlfriend and had once spat on Donell’s face for hugging another girl. On the day the abuse happened, she allegedly accused Donell Mbele of dating another girl and bit his face despite him begging her not to touch his face. Even though Makete claimed that Donell Mbele abused her again the day she shared the post, Sonia Mbele disclosed that the ugly incident took place on November 4th, 2022.
Also, the RHOJ producer got her son admitted into a rehabilitation center the next day. Therefore, her son had been away when his ex-girlfriend’s post went viral.
How Sonia Mbele Responded to Her Son’s Abuse Allegation
Shortly after her son started trending online for abuse and attempted rape, Sonia Mbele released a press statement. She stated that she doesn’t condone or support abuse as she had suffered all kinds of abuse. She expressed her heartbreak on finding out about the issue on social media and wished Roekeditswe had informed her first.

She then concluded by saying that Donell would be held accountable for his actions and she would allow the law to take its course. And she refused to raise a man like Donell’s father. Hence, he would go for therapy, and rehab to get internal healing.
Where is Sonia Mbele’s Son Now?
Donell Mbele was charged to court by his ex-girlfriend, Reokeditswe Makete, in December 2022. He faced charges of physical assault and the case was moved to February 2023. However, after his former partner missed to appear in court five times, the charges were dropped and Sonia Mbele’s son became a free man. Makete reportedly didn’t want to proceed with the case anymore as she was still in love with Donell.
