Tsholofelo Matshaba’s Acting Career

Actress Matshaba launched her professional acting career after she graduated from the university. She developed a keen interest in acting as a young child and was part of her school’s drama wing. 

As a musical theatre-trained performer, she has taken part in the production of local theatrical works such as Born in the RSA 2, Melodies of Love, and Robinson Crusoe, amongst others.

She has also had several roles on the small screen. She delivered a stellar performance as the character Tiny on the SABC2 sitcom, Skwizas. Matshaba started portraying the lead character Keneilwe in the SABC2 family drama series Mamello in August 2015.

She is most recognized for her part in the SABC2 soap opera Muvhango as the cunning gold-digger character Meme. She had a brief hiatus from the soapie in the year 2012 but later came back.

Tsholofelo’s career slowed down sometime in 2018 following the death of her beloved husband. Though she hasn’t fully healed from her loss, she has gradually started appearing in TV roles in the industry.

In March 2023, Matshaba was seen on the red carpet at the Royalty Soapie Awards. She mentioned that it was her first red carpet in 3 years.

Tsholofelo Matshaba was Married to the Late OAP Chris Matshaba

Chris Matshaba is the name of Tsholofelo Matshaba’s late husband. He died on February 10th, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. There is no available information on how the actress and her late husband met or how long they dated before marriage.

The two exchanged marital vows on 27th December 2014 in Ramokokastad, in the North West Province of South Africa. Prior to his painful demise, he was a businessman and also worked at Motsweding FM and North West FM as a radio presenter.

How Old Is Tsholofelo Matshaba’s Daughter?

Tsholofelo Matshaba’s daughter was born sometime around 2008 and 2009. Her exact date of birth is not public knowledge, however, it is known that the actress had her before she ended her relationship with her father in 2010.

Chris Matshaba is not the biological father of Tsholofelo’s daughter. The Muvhango star had her daughter with her Muvhango co-star Dingaan Mokebe. The chemistry between the two first started while they were filming Muvhango as an on-screen couple.

The two subsequently developed an off-screen relationship, and as one thing led to another, Tsholofelo fell pregnant for him. The duo had a messy separation following several public scuffles.
