Zenande Mfenyana debuted on Mzansi Magic’s The Queen on Monday night and stole the hearts of both viewers and veterans in the industry.
Though she’s not a newcomer in the industry, she’s surprised at how much love fans and industry greats showered on her character.
Zenande took on a smaller role on Igazi after which she is now out to make waves in the industry playing Goodness on the much-celebrated Mzansi Magic telenovela The Queen.
Subsequently, she’s overwhelmed with excitement over her spot on the drama series. In addition, she couldn’t believe the amount of love she has received after one appearance.
“Look‚ it was awesome to feel all the love last night as people watched me. I was so emotional. I cried and I still can’t explain the joy of playing Goodness or having people fall in love with her so soon,” she said.
Zenande described getting a chance to play the role as a blessing as it came at the right time in her career. While she had just played a small role in another Ferguson Films production‚ Igazi, Zenande said she’s having a great time with the cast and crew of The Queen which she said have literally become family.
Apparently, there is a lot more interaction with the team this time and it makes her feel blessed.
“I work with talented people‚ and to have had people like Bra Sello (Sello Maake ka Ncube) say the things they have said about my craft is truly an honour,” she said.
Zenande Mfenyana plays the role of an enigmatic woman named Goodness. Her part in the show is still unfolding and promises to “always have viewers wondering what she is up.”
The coming weeks will reveal more on who Goodness is and according to the actress, it will be worth watching.
